Gap Design Editions

that's for the insights. looks like the Rodarte collection is the most wearable.

I really, really wish that I could buy them all, but I think that I'm just going to get the Rodarte bow blouse. It's a shame that the smaller sizes are gone online since I prefer to shop online and I can usually fit into their medium or large depending on the cut. I want to try them on though so I'm really going to try to go ASAP.

I think they might restock. Early morning the Rodarte shirt didn't have size S, but just a few minutes I saw S.

I told my sister about this special colaboration. She bought the Thakoon tie shirt and the Thakoon petal shirt dress.
I'm so excited!!

it really is a shame for me that these garments dont come in colours other than white.

i also think a lot of folks that are size L-XXL are going to shun wearing white for fear of making them look bigger than they are. that is a fear than i have certainly. and i am not size L.

The idea/construction of the petal shirt dress certainly seems impressive!

i'm looking forward to Caffeine's pictures!

I'm so pissed. Just because I'm a college student who cannot afford to spend $100 THIS VERY SECOND, I completely lose out (EVERYTHING is already sold out in my size). I didn't even get the chance to 'save up' for these items. Shopping frenzies like this are getting ridiculous.

i think a lot of people are going to buy these take them home, and then realize they are going to have to shell out for a slip to wear underneath these items. thus - end up returning them.

i would also guess that there is going to be some restocking in may because of the vogue cover. they would have to.

I'm actually fairly impressed by the clothes. Especially the Rodarte pieces!

I went today to my local Gap and the stuff was completely untouched! Every item was well-stocked in every size, so it doesn't seem to be selling quickly here. Some women were commenting on how they didn't like the "new designers for Gap" and how weird it was that everything was white. :D

I tried on all of the dresses and purchased none, as there was waaaay too much fabric. Like Caffeine said, you would have to be a super stylist to get some of these cuts to work.

I ended up rather disappointed with the items and left with just one top, the one with bows on it.

I picked up the Thakoon petal dress today and I looove it! It does have a lot of volume but I think I can balance it out nicely with a chunky shoe like a platform or wedge heel. But I think the Rodarte might be the most wearable. I am in Toronto and there was a lot in stock earlier this morning.

i think so too...
the rodarte trapeze top with the high collar (the one i got) seems to be very popular here (san francisco)...

when i got to the store on post street, there was only one left...
the manager had a steamer on the floor and was getting new stock out, but by the time i left, a bunch were gone...
people were just buying them and not trying them on...

To anyone that missed out, I am sure there will be a lot of returns from online purchases due to sizing. I bought 3 pieces in a size medium online last night, went to the Gap this afternoon to try them on, and found out that they were unmanageably huge. They will be going back for sure. Unfortunately there weren't any smalls left in the items I wanted.

the rodarte dress and the doo.ri pleated shirt are the best
..i really do hope there are a lot of returns, i would rather purchase them online than go all the way to the gap store that is carrying this. ..as for the larger-running sizing, i still have hope :o

The Rodarte dress is sold out online! :o

I went to the Gap in South Coast Plaza today and got almost everything except the Doo Ri shirt-dress, Doo-Ri top and the Rodarte trapze dress.
They selling out of small sizes fast and the cuts are really generous, so I had to pass on the Rodarte dress - even xs was a little too tent-like for me

The quality's not too bad overall and I love the play on the basic white shirt by all the designers. Some of the tops can be a little sheer, but I gonna say my favourite is a tie between the Rodarte bow top and the Thakoon puffy shirt-dress.

there were tons at my local gap when i looked this afternoon.:innocent:
hope you're all enjoying your purchases!

the two tops I got: (is the bow top too cutsy?)

I pretty much agree with Caffeine's review of the pieces. The Rodarte dress would be fabulous on the right person - it was too big on me (and not in the "cute, intentionally oversized" way) and I think I'm too short for it. It was very cute, though. I also skipped on the petal skirt dress because of the dropped waist - again, I think a difficult silhouette to pull off, especially for shorter girls like me. I almost bought the doo.ri scarf blouse, but the fit was a little boxy and the scarf part looked a little cheap. I may go back for it tomorrow, after seeing it styled so nicely on the Vogue cover! I'd say most pieces were running big, except for the Rodarte bow blouse, which I bought in my regular size.

caffeine, the bow top is wonderful on you. goes really well with your colouring! i hope you keep it.

i think the doo ri scarf blouse is going to sell the least. i think most people will be mystified by it.
