Gap Design Editions

i like the shirts alot, but they need to be styled really well imo

i literally tried on everything from this collection. I found the rodarte stuff to be the most flattering and the thakoon stuff the least. I ended up getting the rodarte trapeze top which is super cute and i'm wearing it with straight leg dark wash jeans. my mum got the doo.ri shirt which fits her quite well surprising. there were loads of sizes where i was at (somerset collection) so i enjoyed it. this is by far my favorite designers in a cheaper store style collaboration

I wasn't even planning on making an effort to check this collaboration out, but I took a detour home the other day and ended up walking past a gap. The window displays were featuring the designs, so on a whim I decided to take a peek.

Usually I need a gap size 0 or 2 for tops, but I ended up getting the rodarte bow top in a size 4 for a looser, longer look. I also got the doo.ri scarf blouse, but I haven't decided whether I should keep it or not. To make it work for me, I pushed up the sleeves over my elbows for a puff sleeve effect, and I tucked it into my pants. I'm wearing the scarf tied in a bow--I do like the versatility of the scarf.

I'm in Toronto and I went to the Gap at Eaton Centre mid-afternoon today and the had a lot of stock. They also said that they had the shirts at the Bloor location. Hope this helps

Thanks for the heads up! I actually went today, but I am very disappointed
Not because the pieces weren't great, but because there were no sizes! Almost everything was large and xlarge. A few of the Rodarte trapeze tops were stained too  I really wanted the trapeze top, but there wasn't my size. I went for the bow dress, and the top looked great but the skirt was huge. I couldn't go to Bloor, but I went to the Queen's St location. The store was remodelling. I guess I'll check another store.

^^ And also, I am very jealous of your purchases.. you look great

you look great! I couldn't get the scarf blouse to work for me. I also liked the bow blouse but would have to have gone up a size to accomadate my bust and as is i liked the trapeze top (and could only get one item since i didn't want to have pay duties at the border). You've styled them both really well. I was also impressed with the dresses. Even though i'm curvy sometimes bigger dresses that tie at the waist look terrible on me but these were quite flattering.

i was fortunate enough to find the doo.ri shirtdress in XS today
i think i took the last one
i also got the trapeze top, there weren't any left in XS so i got a S instead.

vancouver, oakridge... plenty of M's left if anyones intereted

I ended up buying the Doo.Ri pleated shirt because everything looked either really big or not my style. I tried on the Thakoon puff sleeve petal dress and it had extremely big sleeves, sheer and just not flattering.

dreamecho you look great!!! love how the scarf shirt looks on you.

i kinda wish i got a s instead of an xs in the trapazee shirt i think it may be too short. oh wellll. i still love it. heeh.

the only shirt that's really sheer is the scarf shirt =]

lucky for me, one of my best friend's sister works at the GAP. She got me a $120 gift card for $60 as one of my bday presents. =D

Hi there, do the shirts come in XS, S, M etc. or numerical sizes (0, 2, 4...)?

If I am a 32B, what should I take in the Rodarte blouses? I am ordering from a store far away, so I want to confirm sizing before purchase. I think sizing is really only an issue with the Rodarte blouses (the other pieces seem to be running large?).

Thanks in advance!

thanks to everyone for the compliments!

, some of the stuff comes in numerical sizes and other comes in XS, etc.

the rodarte stuff seemed to be running big like the others.

you'll probably want the smallest rodarte size there is. the trapeze top comes in lettered sizes, and i think the smallest it ran in was an XS. the bow top comes in numerical sizes, so you'll probably want a size 0. you might be able to get away with a size 2 as well.

i am around a 34B or C, and i found that the size S trapeze top to be rather loose around the bust and armpits. and, like i said above, i got the bow top in size 4, but for a more fitted look i could have gotten a size 0 or 2. hope this helps!

Hi all, I just found hi-res photos of the Gap/CFDA collection as well as sketches from the designers.

Should I post them? I see many photos from this thread have been used by eBay sellers to sell the goods for double the retail price. Somehow that does not sit well with the spirit of this website, no?

Maybe I can put a watermark on them...

Thanks again, dreamecho!

it would be great if you posted them with a watermark on them tylw!

ok, i'll do that, though they are really hi-res, so i will have to scale them down first. a few moments, and i will have them up...

sorry to appear like such an eBay cop, but all this arbitrage is ridiculous!:P

Here they are, I zoomed in some of them, instead of scaling down, to give you guys the best look at the clothes. All photos from Gap.

DOO.RI (the scribble on her drawing reads: "attached scarf")

Her drawing reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki's animation (_Spirited Away_).
