Givenchy S/S 2013 by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

From my point of view, the concept is already clear. Riccardo decided to cast his "friends and family" to personify the strong figures in his life or "the holy aspect" of his collection. Mariacarla, The Muse, presented as a proud new mother, being one of those key figures. Which is why Marialucas' inclusion is just as significant as her mother's presence in the campaign.

Now thats a lucky baby! her first photo is a Givenchy campaign ...the campaign video is awesome as usual, very dark and strong.

Even tho I love the photos, they are beautiful portraits and that Mariacarla photo is so inspiring and it may be iconic (time will tell) I find it very dull.
Both colections had great colors and what they are making is taking interest from the clothes that are magical, thats why I never really liked M&M for Givenchy because they modt of the time take the out the light from the clothes (something that I&V always do very well on their shoots).
But I dont have it, I actualy really like it, the cast seems really nice and they photos are brilliant even tho they would fit more in an editorial like someone said before.

Mariacarla's photo is so beautiful. It is a stunning portrait of her and her sweet baby. I love that Riccardo casts his friends in the campaigns. stellarnostalgia, your so right, it is significant to his collection.

honestly, i'd hang that portrait above my fireplace if I was Mariacarla  it's that beautiful

Mariacarla's shot is magnificent. This photo alone is enough for this campaign to be an unforgettable one!

It has everything in it that fashion has been missing the last several years - personality, innocence, soul and love. Fashion should always be about WHO is wearing it. We've lost that important fact in this age of street style and blogging stars who pile on every IT item humanly possible to hide the fact that, on the whole, they're dull, uninteresting and sad people. All I see here is a proud, radiant mother holding her newborn and photographed in such a way that there is nothing gimmicky or objectified about it. It all looks so natural and so genuine!

I agree with you that the picture is very powerful. Mariacarla does look amazing..her gaze is powerful and...so stoic. It's reminiscent of Raphael's Madonna and Christ.

I'm not sure whether or not I like the baby (in the picture), part of me feels like it detracts. But that's because for me it has this sort of strange presence that brings me to the large babies in Renaissance paintings (sooo creepy). That's my own subjective interpretation of the image..i still think it's strong. Though i'd beg to differ on the 'so natural and so genuine' part, if the rest are as sublime there may be some hope! Because the first few menswear shots are sooooo borinnnn'.

Ugh even her offspring can snag a campaign!

She looks amazing, Love the campaign

I love all the photos but I just don't feel it when it's called a campaign. Though I still love it. such stunning portraits. (And what's up with all these B&W campaigns?)

Well yeah, it's a beautiful shot of her and her baby but please, ditch MCB. I'm just SOOO tired seeing her in every Givenchy campaign. Looking forward to seeing Kate's shots. But so far, this campaign is boring...

Mariacarla is Givenchy. This shot is now part of fashion's iconic imaginary.

This campaign is dull, but the only thing is save on this is the ad with Mariacarla & her daughter, is pretty amazing.

Let's to see the complete campaign to write my real opinion.

It was such a colourful collection and they choose to be B&W in the end? Not sure what to make of it...leaning towards liking it!

i totally agree..i only liked the pastel blue in this collection and this is well..rubbish :(
