Can anybody pleaseeeee ID the dress Serena wore to the party in tonights episode? Loved the back of it!
I saw on a site it is Louis Vuitton but no mention of the season, except that it is pre-2009  I couldn't find it on style.com so far, and I checked Marc Jacobs too...

Eric Daman, who has masterminded the Gossip Girl wardrobe since the show’s inception, written a Gossip Girl–themed book on personal style, and designed Gossip Girl–themed windows for Henri Bendel, is designing a line of party dresses. And he hasn’t piggybacked on Gossip Girl to market them — at least not yet! They'll be priced at a teen- and tween-friendly $50 and under, so we should probably expect lots of eager eighth-graders ponying up their babysitting dollars to look like Blair Waldorf at the prom. (Also, the fact that he’s calling them “party” dresses and not “cocktail” dresses means we’re dealing with an underage market, folks.) Anyway, the line will be sold through fast-fashion retailer Charlotte Russe, where Daman is also a creative director, starting October 24. The sad news? No clothes for boys. Way to dash our dreams of finding an affordable version of Chuck Bass’s crown-print mesh tank.

Considering he was behind the monstrosity that was the denim ball gown in the first season I'm a little concerned.

So do I, everytime I see her I want to slap her . But I've to admit that she plays the bi*th perfectly.
Her boots , on the pic above , are cute but why they paired them with a coktail dress ??

^Trust me, you don't want to be reminded. That gown was indeed the worst piece of clothing they've had on the show, ever.

^ I believe you but now I have a "car crash" situation where I really want to see it cause it's what I'm thinking about.

I don't think those boots are part of the actual outfit, think she's just wearing them between takes or something...

^I'm all paranoid because of that dress now. When misspistol mentioned it I immediately had a picture of Serena in a horrible tiered denim gown in mind but I went through thousands of season 1 screencaps today (and realized that Blake Lively has the best job ever because she's sitting or lying in a bed dressed in amazing nightgowns in 90% of all her scenes) and couldn't find it either. Now my mind is going crazy and I'm convinced Serena never wore that gown and it was actually Britney Spears (& JT) I'm thinking of

Ooops, second season, not first.

^Agh, I was so sure it was Serena that wore that ugly thing! Denim on Blair is just wrong. And denim gowns on anyone are just wrong.

^^ That still is from season 2, not 1 & the dress is by Carolina Herrera, not Eric Daman (and I'd say it's not denim).

I'd love to see this process in action!!

Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman says the show’s wardrobe is so “turbo-charged” none of the characters need to wear pieces twice.

The American programme has made household names of stars including Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen, and is renowned for the lavish outfits the characters wear. Eric loves working on the programme as the clothes are so flamboyant, but insists they are a true indication of New York style.
“I think the girls’ wardrobe is a pretty good reflection of NYC style right now, albeit a turbo-charged one,” he said. “Of course they don’t wear anything twice! Actually, shoes and coats very occasionally, but that’s about it. Well, if you had a wardrobe like this, you wouldn’t double up would you?”
The process of choosing outfits for each of the characters can be a long one. Eric likes to get several different looks in case something doesn’t work, and sometimes designs pieces himself if he can’t find the right version of what he wants. “We do outfit fittings with the girls way ahead of time for each episode. I have an idea of the look and colour palette I want to use, then comes the fun bit – we go shopping!” he laughed to Company magazine. “We buy a few options for each girl and complete the look during fittings by adding pieces from our huge stock of accessories.”
