Goyard bags / luggage

Asked Barney's on Madison about the skulls and was told they used to do it a long time ago, but it's no longer available. I saw a girl on the street last week with the white croisiere and she had 3 skulls on it in fun pastel colors. So cute!

can anyone tell me the appeal of goyards? i just dont get them. they arent memorable or classy to me. the pattern trips me out and the bags seem very plain. i would never shell out that much money for one of these bags. is the quality outstanding? anyone??

I agree. The quality may be outstanding, but the look is definitely rancid.

Hi Tiger1,
The skulls must have looked so cool on the White Croisiere!!

I was at the Paris store not long ago and I believe they (the Paris store) can still do whatever design you want. But the question is how much Barney's charges you vs the shipping charges from Paris (I would suppose Paris charges a cheaper price for the handpainting?) Because they can ship to anywhere including Asia/America...

Not to mention the waiting time is 6 weeks...:(

But just in case if you really wanted it.

And I was just going to save up for the plain old crown with initials for my Jeanne. :p

Thanks, BagladyShoegirl! I want the Jeanne too ... maybe I'll wait until October when I'm supposed to be in Paris to check things out.

I have my ebay set towarn me every time some "goyard" item comes up (just to see if a vintage item might come up), and lately I've been noticing a LOT of St louis... All from hongkong. Some were even removed (maybe by the antifake police!)
Could it be that there is starting to be some fakes? :yuk: I sure hope not!

There are some really bad fakes on ebay. Lots of misshapen Jeannes and Ambassades, and upon closer inspection they all have horrendous stitching. One of hobbies is to use the "report fakes" service -- ebay is surprisingly responsive.

Stilleto, my first impression is that the hardware for the handle doesn't look quite right. It could be a camera issue, but the hardware should look more substantial and solid. If it would help, I can send you a photo of my Comores to compare.

I agree. The hardware looks very thin, but the rest of the bag *seems* perfect. Maybe its just the strange angle the pics are taken at.

The texture and finish looks legit...I compared the zipper to mine and that checks out fine too...

Can't comment on the rest of the hardware though...

sure! that would be great!

Anyone know how much the hardsided trunks go for? I really like the 'Palace' style, but I'm sure they're a little out of my price range.

By the way, in the new Chanel video, Karl had at least 10 or 15 Goyard trunks. Quite a sight!

I just bought my first Goyard....a St. Louis tote for travel...in dark blue....I've looked at Goyard for years but never purchased....I love the customizing option. :)

I like the stripes, etc...but I've not decided upon what I want done on the bag......*thinks* :)
