Goyard bags / luggage

thanx for the compliments! :flower:

Maybe you could write an e-mail to Goyard in Paris, perhaps they will still do other personalisations than Initials and numbers

i purchased a white croisiere less than a month ago, and i've literally only taken the bag out less than 5 times. I've recently noticed that the paint on the piping has been coming off. does anyone else have this experience??? i just don't understand why its doing this, it seems like the slightest bump on the bag causes the paint to chip off.

I would take it back into the store...or call the store and send if you don't live near the Goyard store.....I've not had any issues with mine and I've used it quite a lot lately.

i think i'll be doing that. i was even thinking about getting it in black but ever since i've noticed these issues with the white one, it has really turned me off. its too bad cuz i really do love the bag....

Let's hope it's just your one bag....I'm sure they would replace or repair the bag for you ASAP!!!!!

ok. thanks gemini....i'm gonna call them to say to see what they can do...

Definately call them. I know someone who also had a problem with the white piping on the bag. It started peeling, but she took it back to the store and they took it right back (she purchased it at Barneys though).

ok. i just called the san francisco store and they said that i should send it in and they will take a look at it and repair it. but i'm worried that that's not gonna be enough. i mean, even if they repair it now, what's gonna stop it from happening again????

I understand how your feel....I would ask if it's possible to have a new bag as the one you have is new....Ask to see the store manager if the SA doesn't want to give you a new bag...

i'll see what i can do. thanks for your help gemini. its just been really frustrating. i was so excited when i got the bag but after i used it once, it just started peeling. its really disappointing considering that these bags should be well made.

Very ture and well said..Keep us posted on if they give you a new one or they fix the issue and it stays mended!!! :) Good luck!

Yes, I agree that you should ask them to replace it with a new bag since you just purchased it anyway...Hmm...I wonder why the whites have this problem? Is the white exclusive to the US or do they have the color in Paris? I believe i read somwhere that the white is exclusive for barneys or something like that...correct me if i'm wrong.

Actually, I doubt it's a WHITE Bag problem.

I purchased my Red Goyard Jeanne from the Paris St Honore Store as well and the handle (which is where the leather is) is peeling as well.

I have read previously that the Goyard Leather part peels, but I bought anyways.:innocent:

Just by looking at my bag where it is peeling, I think the problem lies in the fact that the part that is all leather is either too thin, or has a very thin layer of 'coloured' leather covering it...which leads to it peeling easily when there is friction/ frequent contact.

This is just my suspicion.

Mine is caused by my hanging my bag on the Bag Hooks in Fitting Rooms. :ninja:
Never happened to any of my other bags though I treat all my bag the same way. Thankfully it is on the underside of the handle so it is not obvious!

But other than that, the finish is beautiful and I love it. Perhaps you can get an exchange bagfetish? Since yours is so new? Then take extra care...;)

LOVE YOUR BAG AMBIDEXTROUS!!! Congrats on a great purchasse! :flower:

I don't know about them doing white in Paris.....But they have white for sale in Bergdorf's (where the unfriendly blonde SA works!!!).

Hmmm..I've never read or been told of the peeling.....Given nothing is perfect, but peeling is something I would not like at all.....

Has anyone else had this problem??????

I think this whole peeling thing is totally unacceptable especially from a company that prides itself on its craftmanship. They should have some quality control and make sure they are selling things that live up to a standard. As much as i love my bag and the brand, i don't think i can bring myself to spend this kind of money on something that's not well made...just my opinion....
