Gucci Mens S/S 2016 Milan

Just can't deal with the Frida/Tom Ford comparison. What's done it's done. If you want to see cultivated hunk looks, might as well just switch to Tom Ford or Ermanno Scervino if it bothers you this much. #teamcuteboys

I see some covetable pieces here and there, but the styling is a mess and totally distracting.

The styling is what makes his work so fascinating. I just love the way each look is a character. A character that feels included in the context, but I the same feels singular and precious. I'm so utterly in love with this new Gucci.

i like most of the floral blazers wish their pants werent too flared to make one look dangerous in a bad way

I wouldn't wear a single item in this collection since being in my mid-30s, no doubt I'm not a beautiful, delicate very very young thing that these designs are meant for. A tad disturbing just how pubescent-- and utterly neutered these guys look styled in, some cases, toddler-like clothes. I'll just conclude that they know the image they're projecting and actually welcome whatever controversy may arise from such a presentation. Nothing is done by such a huge entity as Gucci without the approval of the executives.

But there's absolutely no denying how directional Michele's Gucci has become so instantaneously. That, and with such a strong campaign-- that thankfully, includes guys looking more grown up, there's also no doubt to me how fast the accessories, bags and footwear will move move move with their instant quirky cool cache-- which BTW, look exquisite and seriously designed to sell. And who cares if most of these floral. lacey and yes, definitely cutesy pieces that look more at home at Etsy.com than high fashion won't end up in the shops-- as long as the classically-cut suits will carry the new Gucci cool, they'll do well for their customers, especially their Asian customers.

ΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑΗΑ no.

"Mama, this is garbage."

Idk how to post gifs on here, but I wish I could post it haha.
Same, I just don't get how brands are able to switch it up completely. I'd like to see the sales for these past collections.

I couldn't find that Alyssa gif, so I just quoted her haha . And I would really love to see the sales too.

While his clothes certainly aren't for everyone (and definitely not everyone can pull them off) I do love his flora prints and these pieces look as if they could be timeless. Maybe it's because they look vintage but there's just something so 'home-y' about them and I think it adds to the cute charm that his collections seem to resonate.

Its hard to deny that some of these pieces are actually quite desirable.

In terms of the collection as a whole I preferred last season. I can't put my finger on it but it somehow seems too optimistic and jovial which is why the looks come off costumey.

Between this, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, I think there has been quite an improvement in this seasons fashion week. Probably the best in years.

the official video makes it look very cinematic (like he's obviously going for) and the music is great it's just , the clothes are too much this time. it looks like they went to beyond retro and made a fashion show out of what they bought

I like what He's doing at Gucci. It's definitely not my style but the man has conviction, a certain point of view and a narrative that give to his collections a cinematic quality and at the same He's taking a step forward by proposing a new type of masculinity, but, this time I'm not as taken as I was before. It feels a bit contrived and some looks are over-the-top (Those shirt/blouses with crocheted collar) and I agree with dior_couture1245; I feel that the F/W15 collection had a more luxurious and self-assured aura around it.

With a retail network of self-operated boutiques so wide-spanned as Gucci's is, I am very highly in doubting that this can generate a solid enough turnover for the brand. I think this kind of collection would be much better suited for a niche brand as J.W. Anderson is, but if you think of a house like Gucci that has to work for a much wider audience, I'm afraid this collection will not work for a large part.

Is there really a market for this? I cannot see men buying any of this. I understand it's a fantasy, styling, etc, but even when you strip it down, I think it would only appeal to a very tiny niche group.

I personally find it absolutely hideous. Wouldn't be caught dead in anything.
