Gucci F/W 2015.16 Milan

A complete and utter mess is what I thought! I was bored to tears after the fourth look and clicked off from the live stream. Yet another pretentious and unwearable collection which has no identity, is incredibly incoherent and resembles a Prada/Céline show. Good Lord how I'm going to miss Frida Gianinni. It's just suddenly dawned on me now that she's left Gucci!

Oh man, this is just horrible. Compared to this Frida was a saint. I'm very disappointed, they lost me. It feels like they are only trying to create a hype and hoping thereby selling more of their stuff.

Me too, Mark. Me too.

This was just too many different things and it looked so messy and so wannabe.

This is pretty bad, but I expected it to be worse for some reason. I like the berets lol. It's completely all over the place though. It's introducing the whole quinoa-eating 70's librarian look that Michele is introducing, but it also some Frida-like elements such as that logo suit. Then he's trying to keep up with Gucci's floral heritage with all those floral pieces. If he had stuck with the quinoa-eating 70's librarian look, it still would have bad but the fact that it's not coherant and all over the place, makes it worse.

Those logo bags with the jeweled chains will sell like hotcakes and definitely will become an it-bag. I guess introducing the traditional logo print is a way to "retap Gucci into a luxury brand", as Kering wants.

As for the rave reviews, I think everyone is just applauding Gucci because they were genuinely tired of Frida and they view it as something different, even though it's kind of a nightmare.

What. on. earth.

This is not the Gucci that I love! This is not Gucci at all. Where's the attitude? Where's the seduction? Where's the FASHION?? Gucci is an established brand, but this to me feels like a collection of some up and coming unknown designer who (a) doesn't have a budget, (b) can't afford a stylist, (c) doesn't have a vision for the brand and, (d) doesn't have a direction. I can't believe I was watching and browsing through Gucci. I thought I was back in NYFW. I doubt that this designer will last long in this brand.

Every single piece stood out... in the most horrible way possible. I honestly miss Frida. I loved and hated her collection but that's thing about her. Love her or hate her, you can't deny that her collections made an impact (as terrible, forgettable, and repetitive some may have been).

I am terrible disappointed by this. And I most certainly agree with what gossiping said about what the Gucci woman is. This collection just showed that the Gucci woman is not sexy, powerful... it showed that the Gucci woman is a lazy dresser.

On what universe would these shoes sell? Disgusting. And for those who writers who rave about this... girl, I'd love to see you wear these (from head to toe).

Who oversaw this collection? How can the management actually approve of this? How?

I honestly went through the entire collection laughing at every look. This is incredibly bad.

Frida's Gucci may have been dated and stagnant but this is unbelievably hideous. There is no desire or allure here, and I find it hard to see a luxury brand succeeding if the clothes are not desirable. I am sure there are a few clients that will enjoy this memaw style but not enough to make a dent in sales. For leather house like Gucci I am stunned Kering allowed this colection with little to no accessories presence (those shoes should be burned and the ashes spread at sea).

Gucci needed revitalizing but this is not the direction they (or anyone) should be pursuing.

I agree with everyone that said this one just like a random flea market collection. Everything looks cheap. It's like made for Zooey Deschanel on acid. I have no words to describe how awful this collection.

I'm going to be in the minority here, but i loved it!
This is exactly what Gucci needed a complete change in aesthetics that has people either love it or hate it, Gucci needs to find a specific customer, if it wants to turn around its declining profits, I think Alessandro Michele knows what he's doing.

Let's be honest: some clothes are good.
BUT, this is not fashion. Everything in this collection feels forced and pretentious. Because they have to shake Gucci up, they did a different runway, changed the cast and all but where is the creativity and the design?
The thing with Gucci is that they have to move from the Frida but also from Tom. I mean, he left 11 years ago and people are still missing him there...simply because he was fearless enough and had a vision for the house.

Gucci have to compete with Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Prada and somehow Tom Ford.
This is a very superficial move for the house because, put those clothes in a Frida-era model and they are boring.
People don't go to Gucci for clothes anymore and this will not change that.

I guess this is good for Tom business...

1. A few pieces were okay but overall, the collection was bad!
2. The styling was SO off!
3. What was that cast?! :yuk:

I also miss Frida and the old Gucci.

Gucci went from sleek, modern, alluring and a sexy but subtle woman, to a frumpy girl that has ill-fitting clothes, doesn't like to party, doesn't go to great restaurants or gets invites for memorable parties because she likes to stay in the house reading for her cats and has no sense of confidence or notion of sexiness.

This new gucci woman also looks like she makes her own clothes even though she's not good at sewing, and the fur shoes are made from the hair her cats shed.

Seriously, I feel like I've seen better thought out and more well made collections on project runway

Jessica Fletcher chic is the best way to describe this collection lol

Literally just looks like a Prada show. I don't understand how someone who has worked at both Fendi and Gucci can turn out pieces that look so damn cheap.

It's disappointing to see YSL and now Gucci, both brands with a strong history of design for adult women, essentially becoming the go-to designer for Lula magazine...

Is this twee response to the understated, adult elegance that Phoebe Philo's Celine has revived, with countless other brands following suit of her?

Overall for me there were a few hits in this collection. The languid ease of the silhouettes, bit of 70's influences, and the whole masculine/androgyny but had something that made it desirable. But a lot of was quite wrong, especially since Michele has experience with accessories... but that was a total let down, those shoes.

Is Stefano Pilati really enjoying his job at AGNONA/ Ermenegildo Zegna?
