Major props to the videographer's though, they managed to skim over yet another animal rights protest (I presume) early on and still have the looks in full.
Animals need to give it a rest imo

Superlative taste. Shame about his clothes. It feels like what might happen if some gay off here was picked at random for a CD role.Loveher - Romy
Late Night Feelings - Mark Ronson / Lykke Li
Ancora - Mina
I should really consider using another name professionally then...This might be a weird thing to say, but I think sometimes you can just tell if someone's going to be a good designer from the name. Alexander McQueen - fashion designer. Karl Lagerfeld - fashion designer. Hedi Slimane, Cristobal Balenciaga, Grace Wales Bonner, Alessandro Michele, all really obviously designers. 'Sabato De Sarno'... not so much.
I mean, I was expecting it to be boring, but the good kind of boring like Vaccarello's Saint Laurent/Hawkings' Tom Ford. This is boring and bad. They got the wrong slogan, GUCCI NIENTE (nothing), suits this better.
From the moment I saw the preview looks, I knew it was going to be generic. At the end it has been more than that: a generic disaster.
I wanted to "fall in love with Gucci again" TM...but the truth is that I only fell asleep with this debut collection.
I got the same kind of excitement I could get from going to an outlet, on clearance day, getting rid of the remains from several diffusion lines.

Sabato De Sarno's secret account exposedI should really consider using another name professionally then...
LUDOVIC DE SAINT SERNIN
SABATO DE SARNO
It's funny to read the comments and all your big feelings involved.
What did you expect from him?
He just did what the suits wanted. A clean cut from AM, something more approachable, younger for the masses. He follows exactly the same pattern as Hedi did at Celine. And the suits at Gucci want to replicate this huge rebranding now. It's not a secret. That's why they picked Sabato.
He's talented, he has years of experience, he has the same italian roots as the brand and also a elevated mass market taste, BUT he's no leader for sure.
He's perfect for this role.
Will they be successful in the long run? I doubt it. The stores need a revamp too - everything has to be clinic and clean to spotlight these mostly soulless clothes in the best way.
Gucci will be a strange mix of the new and old Celine (just look at the Daria Gucci ad) and i would not held my hopes high to get something revolutionary or artistic fireworks at Gucci for the next years to come. Maybe never ever again.
