Camille's dress is a joke. Versace did this decades ago and more recently at SS10

I'm sorry but talk about overreaching. Apart from being one shoulder and having a high slit (a design that has existed for ages and wasn't invented by Versace), the dresses have absolutely nothing in common.

Well there's nothing wrong with any of the dresses. They're all very pretty, and the beadwork on some of them looks beautiful, but they're completely anonymous looking. If it wasn't for the fact that they were being worn at Cannes and talked about specifically in this thread I really don't see many people taking notice of them. They're as inoffensive and predictable as a red carpet gown can be.

What gets me is that as much as I have disliked a lot of Frida's evening stuff in the past, it usually had some personality to it. I can give her that. I mean look at the dresses she showed for F/W 10. Whether you like them or not there's no way they'd blend in on a red carpet. As weird as it sounds, to me especially, I expect a little more from Frida at this point.

Camilla's second dress looks like Herve Leger... if you'd throw some glue on top and dip it into a a tub of sequins.

I never said they looked like Versace, I said Versace had done this before.
I just feel kinda sorry for Frida because she thinks that these dresses are the pinnacle of design, yet Versace (and other designer as well for that matter) have done these for RTW YEARS ago.

But seriously, for a couture dress it sure is underwhelming.

right now it feels to me like a desvirtuation of couture... simply thingking on the way they chose to say it to the world... pure mass media marketing. Concerning all the current caracteristics of couture industry, I'm seriously wondering their reasons to start this proyect.
but i'll wait for the whole collection to give an opinion (I assume it's going to be shown next july...).

I need to see Gucci not Versace or others. I think the dresses are nice and beautiful but to be honest, 70% that make these looks so perfect are from the stars who wear. Look at Frida 's gown; totally unoriginal but she looks very sexy and has great body. So if she really wants to do this, she needs to go back and think "Gucci" and try to come up with new, innovative red carpet stunner.

And Salma please stop wearing Gucci Premiere. I know it the PPR brand but you don't have to over promote it when it's not even that great.
