Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows *Warning - Thread WILL Contain Spoilers*

mmm i wish i had more pothead friends.
i need to discuss in person lol.
sorry for my string of posts guys

Also , how harry kids has no idea he was famous. When everyone was staring at him and ron had to say he was famous !
imagine not knowing how big of a deal your dad was , i mean ,if it wasnt for him little albus james and lilly wouldnt even be there !

hmm. that part came off to me like ron was just being funny. i think the kids knew who they were. ron and everyone. harry and hermione.

From what I can remember, she's just mentioned when people are brought to Hogwarts to fight.

She offers to go up to the Ravenclaw common room with Harry to help him find the Horcrux, but Ginny (who seems jealous ) suggests that Luna do it instead.

There might be a little more, I can't really remember. :flower:

Hehe. Sorry, I know you're a Ginny+Harry fan  but (and I don't mean to harp on everything) that was one of the reasons she annoyed me.

People were dying and they were planning to overthrow the Deatheaters and what? All she's worried about is that Cho might steal Harry? Clearly he needed to find the Diadem, TRY TO BE A LITTLE MORE MATURE PLEASE. Is there really any harm in letting Cho take Harry. She just wanted to help. It's not like she was going to make a pass at him when a battle was raging on. Geez.

It's just like at the beginning of the book when Fleur's little sister Gabrielle throws Harry a flirty look. She clearly says "In case you're tempted by veelas" and of all the sentimental things she could have done or said, she decided to give him a 'hot, searing' kiss so he's not tempted by other girls and calls it a 'silver lining' that Harry's quest for Hocruxes does not involve dating.

Sorry. This is the last thing I'll say on Harry and Ginny. Honestly, I'm an old romantic, someone falling in love with their best friend's sister, getting married and making them actual brothers is something very emotional. However, the Harry+Ginny relationship felt so forced that I felt she did it just so Ron and Harry could be brothers-in-laws.

I don't know, there may have been hints littered throughout the books predicting Harry+Ginny but I think it was the greatest flaw in the series. As well as the most underdeveloped story line. To this still, I still don't know why Harry loves Ginny other than the fact that she became beautiful.

Like one of the posters said, I too am not opposed to Harry+Ginny but it did seem like he suddenly fell deeply in love with her and was willing to risk his life for her.

Last rant. I PROMISE

I definitely understand your points (and it's not harping at all to me  I used to be a lot more involved in the HP fandom and I ended up hating it because everyone was so mean. The dreaded "H/Hr fans vs. R/Hr fans & H/G fans vs. H/L fans...too much animosity for me.)

The way I see it, Ginny is a 16 year old girl. Even under the really high pressure circumstances, I didn't mind that she had a jealous reaction.

Also, I think JKR wanted Luna to be the one to show Harry the common room, and thought of it as a good way to show Ginny's feelings about Cho. (I can't imagine she liked her very much, considering she had to deal with the H/C relationship while still crushing on Harry.)

Plus, at that point, Ginny and Harry weren't technically together -- I could see her being insecure about Harry's past feelings for Cho and wondering if they might resurface.

(Yeah, this turned out a little long...:innocent:;))

I just thought of another lovely part...

When they are burying Dobby & Luna closes his eyes and says "there, now he could be sleeping."

The whole Dobby scene was so touching -- everyone contributing a piece of clothing and helping with the burial. I love how determined Harry was. And Luna was amazing in that scene.

Nono. :flower: It's not. I definitely see your points as well. And for ages (And still going on  ) I was/am one of those dreaded H/HR fans. Unfortunately, there is nothing to debate about now  but I'm still many of us can still say that H/G might break up in the future, yada yada, hook up with Hermione, etc etc. (impossible but I look forward to the fanfics) Only that would be awkward since their kids are cousins

I do get that Ginny is a normal 16-year-old girl but considering the maturity Harry has shown and the fact that he regards her very highly, she just seemed very childish to me. Perhaps, I thought that the girl Harry would fall in love with would be better than Ginny.

Oh, man. That was mean :ninja:

I didn't mean dreaded H/Hr fan, btw. I meant the endless debates about everything, mostly HBP.

I'm looking forward to fanfiction as well, especially since JKR left so much time between the ending and the epilogue. In that sense, I'm glad she left everything so open.

^ Oh, no. Don't worry about it ^_^ I know the long and agonizing debate (And defeat) of the H/HR fans vs R/H fans

I don't take offence at all

There's raging debates on some forums that Ginny was actually going to have sex with Harry.

I know  Personally....I say JKR had Ron and Hermione bursting for a purpose....but then I don't like Ginny so I'm pretty biased

where can i read the book from chapter 10 to the last with the epilogue online??

It's not like she was going to make a pass at him when a battle was raging on. Geez.
That didn't stop Ron and Hermione, so I would not have rulled it out either.

Oh yeah, was I the only one creeped out by that? The girl has not even reached puberty, she's supposed to think boys are gross, no?

Totally agree. that relationship was even more shallow that harry and Cho's, and that's saying something. The only romantic development that would have made sense to me would have involved Luna: she is the only one who was able to reach deep inside him, understand his sorrow, make a emotional and spiritual connection to him and gave him absolute trust and support. That's a great basis for a good love affair, imo. I understood why teenage Harry would go for the 'hot' girls but I hoped, as an adult, he would grow over that and end up with her. But then, I am totally in love with Lina, so...

I could not help thinking he was going to die a virgin right before Voldy's first Avada.

OK, I'm getting out of this thread now, it's unhealthy.

^ I'll be honest and say I prefer these ships

1) H/HR

My reasons. She has ALWAYS been there for her. Never has she turned her back on Harry and I truly believe that she would die for him. Course that could also indicate a strong friendship, but the H/HR shipper in me believes otherwise :D

2) Luna/Harry

Like Harumi has said, she played a bigger part in Harry's life. She told him he wasn't mad when he saw thestrals, she alone broke through to Harry when he couldn't conjure up his patronus.

"We're still fighting"

3) Ron and Hermione.

Actually, I love them too  I think they're so cute despite the fact that Hermione deserves better :p

come on Hermione loves Ron..maybe she never thought Harry in that way..Harry never thought about Hermione in that way,too because i guess he was seeing that something is going on between ron&hermoine since the beginning..i personally never thought Hr/H together,too..okey Harry could choose another girl but it would be really bad for him to choose Luna for me.

^ Granted, we all ship different characters.

I only said I preferred these...I never said these characters belong together.

i LOVED that Neville became the herbology teacher, he may well be my favourite character after this book, ( and hes very hot in real life)

Is it me or did it seem like Luna and Dean were becoming an item?? i got that feeling........i hope so, thats cute

didnt really care either way about the Ginny/Harry romance, never have, but the Ron and Hermione kiss    wev been waiting for it for soooooo long i was just so happy when they finally kissed!! the romance between them had been building all the way through the book (with all the "ron lept up to put his arm round her shoulder" type moments) and ron finally won her heart

i liked the malfoy twist with harry saving draco and then narcissa saving harry, although i kind of think that voldermort would just know if harry really was dead, he wouldnt need to check for a pulse, he would just sense it.

i wish neville had killed beatrix but so glad he was a true griffyndor and got the sword! A++

Maybe it's because Cho's not trustworthy, with she and her friend betraying the DA in Harry Potter 5 and all.

Oh and there is a theory that Crookshanks is the Potter's old cat.
