High Waisted Jeans #1

They look decent as shorts, anything longer shout "mom jeans" to me. It all depends on how it's cut though. If it's poorly done then your *** looks a mile long.

Honestly, high waisted jeans do not look good. No matter the fit/cut/style. High waisted trousers on the other hand, are fantastic.

I hope this is not a repost in this thread, but I just noticed this image in the Italian Street Style thread

Those sort of look like the skyscrapper Cheap Mondays--I don't know of anyone else that makes a plain-front super high waisted jean like that. It looks quite odd, but more subtle because of the coat.

i don't think the jeans are skyskrapers, they are lower. think it's the ''eiffel''-jean. too highwaisted for me!

I saw a young lady on the train with high-waisted jeans on...I don't know what to say. It's amazing what low-rise jeans have done for women with flat/wide bums. This young lady just looked ridiculous.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if you're not built like Ciara, you have absolutely no business in high-waist jeans. Unless of course, the soccer mom look is what you're actually going for.

I think low-rise jeans are going to be around for a long time because of this...

Unless, of course, the aesthetic pendulum swings once again back to the "flat bum = beautiful" ideal. But I don't see that happening for a long time.

yeah flat ***es look so unappealing, no matter what social class or no matter where in the world.

I got these Glenda trousers by Miss Sixty recently. They are the best pair of jeans I have ever had, so feminine.
IMO low waist jeans do nothing good for anybody, they make the legs short, the body looooong and unless you have a weight of 35 kg or less you look like the Michelin guy.

please no! not a fan of any kind of what do they call them 'britney bumsters' whatever but what is worse is the people if this high waisted look comes through that will wear this style... im not sure which is worse - the muffin top or the 1m cubed ***

lmao... im in agreeance... karma

Zarina you do look really nice! I like the detail at the top of those jeans, like an inverted scallop or is there a better term for that? Those little peaks...

I've been wanting to get a pair of high waisted jeans for a while, and I think they can look really good if done correctly. I love the higher waist. It can looks so flattering and make your legs appear longer, I just don't understand why people are so afraid of it. Not that I still don't like my lower rise jeans, but I am a little sick of seeing buttcracks all the time.

I agree with you. I want a pair of those jeans too but I'm just afraid that they won't look good on me.:(

^Thanks for posting! I've been looking at all the high-waisted jeans on shopbop and still haven't decided which ones will suit my body best.. So, I'll probably end up getting none!

gosh both jbrands look the best out of the whole group. I'm definitely a fan of their jeans... the first example, the earnest sewn jeans in that light wash really looks awful--that's recalling mom jeans.

I think the Earnest Sewns could look really great with the right top, but you'd have to be super skinny [I think] to pull off the high-waisted jeans in such a light wash.

haute_femme, you're welcome! I really like all the Grey Ants but I have the same problem as you. I really prefer to try my jeans on before I buy them. I have a hard time finding pants.

I totally agree with you.
I'm still hoping this 'i want to look sexy' thing will GO AWAY. That's what making me sick.
