I saw a girl on the street wearing high waisted denim the other day. She looked good. Strange to the eye, but it made her look tall and lanky. Too bad that it also channels a 70s vibe, too, though.


They were jeans with thickly braided front pockets. What brand makes those? The name escapes me right now.

Grey ant or Chloe . prolly grey ant , you said it best , strange to the eye , your right , last time we saw this look was in the late 70s ,almost 30 years ! So now that look will come back , trust me , with a snug white t shirt and heels , these jeans blow low rise skinnies and flats out of the water , in terms of chicness and sexiness IMO .

I'm gonna pull out the thrift ones I found a few years ago and see what I can do with it. They do look good with a simple, tucked-in top. Very sleek but also casual.

I'm liking the Grey Ant and the Seven Ginger ones. Maybe if this look works for me, I'll get a designer pair. The vintage ones on eBay look atrocious.

The vintage jeans on ebay like almost 98% , are like reject/defective jeans from the 70s/80s , the chic ones were worn to death during that time or are in someones closet just hanging and they dont want to part with them. Only 2% of the jeans IMO are like sexy and chic . Another thing vintage sizing is very different , size 30 then is like a 5-6 now! lol People always try on jeans before you buy them , i try mine on at an actual store , then order them online !

highwaisted colored jeans are pretty flattering on Fergie except for the pouch around the crotch (and i'm definitely not a fan of her's)

she should have left out the belt. i think for high waisted keep the belt up top not smack in the middle...looks so out of place, like theres no need for it to be there lol

yeah, i know, how many times have i thought i'd NEVER try something and end up loving it! but this has been a lifetime quest for me-- how to avoid constraining my waist, so i've always worn low slung/hip huggers. high waisted pants just make me clausterphobic!

I've just bought two pairs of high waisted jeans and I look so fat in them! My thighs are huge in those jeans.

^ i don't like the belt in fergies outfit. but the pants were kinda nice. hot color! but not easy to wear. you need to have a 'firm body'..

I'm actually a big fan of high waisted pants, however it's obvious it isn't for every body type.

Having the option to get them hemmed is great versus jeans being too short.

Anyway, sure the belt is placed weird, but I have respect for Fergie for trying those out and they do flatter her figure because they make her slim, still curvey, and not gross as she previously looked in weird bunching high waisted jeans. so if the huge, ugly, and cheap looking PVC belt helped with that, finebyme.

^ I know..I actually like the belt loops there. It gives that extra support and eliminates a bulge..I'd like to find a more flared pair with belt loops there.

Does anyone know a place to find the 300$ braided grey ant jeans for less..? I'm talking about the greyish ones, wishing they were more along the lines of 200..

I saw those on sale on ebay more than once. (the lightbluish gray?)

I prefer the straight legged jeans the most. i want to go for 40s style vs. 70s. I still think the 70s were tacky.
