I saw those on sale on ebay more than once. (the lightbluish gray?)

I prefer the straight legged jeans the most. i want to go for 40s style vs. 70s. I still think the 70s were tacky.

Anyone seen the karen walkers?

I LOVE the 70s , much better than the 80s and i lived through both decades . 70s fashion actually is very steeped in the 40s lol...i think your meaning 50s ...

I've just bought two pairs of high waisted jeans and I look so fat in them! My thighs are huge in those jeans.

your prolly bought high waist skinnies , try a mid rise trouser jean .....K jean , Jbrand malik jean, they have 9-10 inch rise which is a normal rise . Big thights are not caused by high waists but very form fitting jeans ..

I tried on a pair of Dittos today. They aren't as flattering as I imagined they'd be. VERY LONG!! I'm about 5'5 1/2 and with heels, I'd still have to get them hemmed!

the dittos arent like the ones back in the day , i find , they are TOO tight in the crotch i find , try Jbrand maliks , Grey ant jeans , K jeans from topshop or similar clones. Im 5'5 too , make sure you have some heels on , when you go try the jeans , 2-3 inch , or tippie toe ....they are so many brands doing high waist , so try as many. I had the same problem when skinnies came out , i tried 20 pairs before settling on siwy skinnies ...but im soo bored of skinny jeans ...im wearing maliks right now ...in a dark wash ...9 inch rise ...i feel they are THE best pair of jeans ive owned...

The Pepe Jeans High Waisted Slim Fit Jeans worn by Sienna Miller (candid pic) not long ago are available at asos.com

Bought the Seven Ginger yesterday...couldn't decide between the medium wash and dark but decided on medium. They're very light weight but somehow have great support and extra flattering. I'm excited!

So how do you keep from sporting these and NOT looking like someone's Mom? I would think that it would "un-flatter" your stomach area.

wear them as a wide leg/trouser leg or super skinny , a relaxed taper leg looks mom jean.

Post picture of you wearing them please! I'm interested in the Gingers. Are they true to size?

^ Oooh yes please do. i have a pair in my wishlist at shopbop.

the 70s were steeped in the 40s, but the feel is different. i hate the massive flare thing. I also don't want to come off disco-ish. I was seeking something like the bacalls by 18th amendment. High, but not too high, dark rinse with a wide straight leg and polished finish. The problem is the bacalls are too short for me to wear heels. I wanted grey ants, but haven't found them in ny to try on. I am also looking in the notify opium.

I thkn the seven gingers are great since they curb the flat butt problem

Try going to intermix stores in new york, grey ant has long inseams .
Try the wrangler 47 by marc jacobs , jbrand maliks are good but i think the inseam is short for you. I think the ginger jean is good too and its allover new york in different styles. I think the notify is your best bet , it looks really sleek compared to the bacalls.

try the colberts ...i read in glamour uk they are good for girls with long legs ...they have a huge flare . I personally love them but i bought jbrand maliks .

btw there is nothing wrong with looking discoish hun.....hence my username...anyways with fashions renewed interest in the halston era , the halstonettes and the revival of the brand with rachel zoe on its board ,there will be a return to that look..i prefer the disco look anyday to the maternity dresses , leggings and flats of late:sick::sick:

high waist and flare is really going to be a major trend.. I can feel it we should have a separate thread..

Acne and Whyred are both great brands for it.

OK, here my findings for your info ^_^
I have the 18th amendment colbert jeans: they look great! Inspired by Rachel Bilson pic I wear them with a Sophie Simmons Dessous top and a 3/4 sleeve cardi, and vintage sandals (not compensed). It reallllly looks good. I think these high waist jeans DO make your bum look sexy. And yes, you need a flat stomach for high waist, otherwise it points in the direction of moms jeans for me. They do have a 70's feel, of course, but they are really refreshing after all the low and lower waists we have seen. My 2 cents :p

lots...do...those are miss sixty clones....those look bad on her ...that is waayyy to high waisted even for me...its touching her boobs..

I don't like these jeans on her...whoever she is. And I can't decide which is more..."unpleasant": the cameltoe or the near meeting of her breasts/waistline :ninja:

And what the heck is going on with that ridiculous jacket and all of that..."action" around the ankle?! OMG.
