your natural waist is at your belly button which is about 9.5-11 inches depending on your body type , relative to jeans out there its high waisted though , mind you jeans like the miss sixty corsets have 13-14 inch rises .

on closer look , i first thought it was a regular straight leg jean , but it has 70s styling , which looks good but these jeans are really high waisted man , they went 2 inches above my belly button and they are very expensive , 300 bucks , when i can get a pair of grey ants for half that price ......

exactly, i dont like those super high ones it looks un-natural and too fetishy for ready-to-wear

I highly agree ....it goes from chic to weird

I'd like to buy a pair, but I'm wondering how they will look on someone like me with narrow hips.

I'm a size 4, and my hips are barely visible...I love how Ciara looked in these in her Promise video and she has narrow hips like me...but she was also bent over throughout the majority of the video, and ANYTHING looks great like that, but I have to walk around in those things.

yeah its important to get the right proportion for your frame or it looks tacky, honestly i think it looks best if you are on the petite side but curvy, for me this style is a blessing, but i guess the leg opening comes into play too, i think i look weird in the skinny version unless the leg is tucked into boots, the wide leg overwhelms me, otherwise a flare or straight leg works best for me if i'm not wearing boots

i have the j brand bardots but have yet to wear them outside. they are straight leg and pretty high-rise. i am 5'8" and a size 6. i really have hips and they accentuate them, so i'm not sure if they are flattering. i'm not sure if i should take a risk and go with it or if i will end up looking like a fashion victim.

^^^^i see a problem there, you have to have wider leg to balance out your curves hun, the bardot is the wrong jean for you, its a high rise skinny if i remember and that , given your height you can wear any wide leg cause they wont be an issue of overwhelmed . My cousin is 5'2 she loves wearing high waist wide leg jeans because she can hide her heels and look 5'6...mind you the jeans are not so wide , i would say like 22 inch , jbrand doll , people at her work said you look tall lol........best part is you can wear those jeans to work and for the night out .

She Sends Kisses, I think they should look nice on you..from what I hear. Just maybe get a second opinion from a friend, but I'd say go for it!

how about a picture of you in the jeans for the thread...? from what you wrote, i think something more wide legged may work better.

rachel bilson looked great in her jeans-- i thnk she is around 5 foot even.(i have met her before) in case that helps anyone.
Notice how narsty lindsay looks. She is the fashion don't attached to the do.

ok...

so see petite girls can rock higher waists ( those are 9.5 inch) and wide legs, and she looks classy. Lindsay well looks the opposite , it would help to invest in a bra firstly and a pair of jeans which is NOT 2 sizes larger.

your right.. I do need to get an opinion from someone seeing them on me.. the only opinion i had was from my boyfriend who said "are you sure those are in style?"

ok your bf will say that initially , then when your out and about , he will say , wow you look good ...most guys are very fickle and ....thats why we are here :D

is he those sarcastic types ??? lol....

no he's not sarcastic at all, at first i thought he was kidding.. and then he said it was just because he has not seen anyone else wear them here. i live in dc, not the most fashion-oriented city (although it's getting better)!
