Hussein Chalayan F/W 10.11 Paris

okay having a gander....

i have to say i see nothing really chalayan about this. it feels too much like Lutz meets Bless, imo. and i'm all for simplicity but chalayan is known for doing more extraordinary things--and i'm not talking mere table tops, lighted dresses and buried dresses--but i see none of that kind of aura in this.

this is quite a departure..I'm not sure I'm looking at a Chalayan collection! Is this his sad attempt at going commercial?

I watched Chalayan's interview about this collection. The collection is about a road journey through the USA.This is why the sountrack is like this:)The shiny dresses represent Hollywood. You can also see the Amish.

^ "Moofe"??

It's very mature, too mature. I don't like how most of the collection is so ill-fitting, especially the slit dresses.

Even in Chalayan's early collections when there were ice, inflatable, table or electric dresses there was always a collection of extremely beautiful and wearable clothes. There isn't much of that here.

I don't like any of this D:
For one, it is totally all over the place and the whole show feels like a collection of about 5 or 6 other designers.

Another example of a great designer with innovative ideas going commercial. He lost his identity.

it's a little too "sensible" for me. it's definitely not bad or ugly; there are wearable, sensible, commercial clothes here... but this is not quite what i expect from hussein.

WHAT is going on this season, so many designers are SO off!!!!!

i'm going to wait for HQ's to fully judge the collection but i kind of agree...last season was muted but still beautiful with the hand details but this is just normal clothes - so far anyway
