I'm loving Steven Klein's work right now; I relate to it a lot.
The models often look mechanical and have a very honest deliberately staged look which greatly contrasts to the sex often depicted in his photographs.

I'd like to have more to post but I can't id all of the paintings I saw today and can't remember all of the painters. I should have had something to write it down.

I recently saw the Edvard Munch exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago and it is fantastic! They have a lot of his woodblock prints in their archive that they don't ususally show and they were great.

I've been seeing a lot of Robert Bresson films lately and I find them very inspiring.. The clothes remind me of A.P.C. today, some pieces they sell are practically identical to things I've seen in Bresson films.. quite funny.

^ Love those. The clothes are very APC.

I've only seen A Man Escaped, but I would love to see more of Bresson's films. Are the stills you posted from Au hasard Balthazar?

Yes, those two are from Balthazar. It's a beautiful film. I would also recommend 'Mouchette'.. now that is practially a 80-minute long A.P.C. ad before A.P.C. even existed

This makes me want to get on the road.

^Those photos...no words. I'd never heard of Woodman before. Just spent the best part of the last hour reading more on her. Right now I strangely feel listless, because mention of suicide always distresses me, and sated, because of her work.

Have I mentioned how much I love this thread?^_^

Now you've gone too far, Gius. Keep these hidden treasures to yourself next time. As if I didn't spend too much time on TFS already. Hmpf.

^ Those are amazing photographs  I'm glad my house isn't haunted, I'd be seeing that guy in my wallpaper
