Inspiration (January 2005 - April 2010)

Well, we are on this project at the moment and I am pretty uninspired, but mainly because I haven't pinpointed my exact inspiration and motivation for creation yet.
We were told to take ten very small objects from a box of very small objects that our tutor gave us and put them in little plastic bags and then draw them and let them inspire us.
My friend and I got to them first thank god, and I got this vile hair clip or a clip for something anyway, it has got to be like a hundred years old. It's like rusty metal with really mangy fox fur on the top.
So i've used this as my inspiration - the mangy fox fur represents the end of true Class and Old Money and the introduction of the Nouveau Riche.
I'm thinking Miss Haversham, I'm thinking pre-Russian Revolution, I'm thinking stored for a long time.
I want the dresses to be made of this material that is permanently creased in squares like it has been folded for a long time.
But still, I am quite uninspired. I love the creased dress idea, I just need to come up with more ideas like that.
My tutor (who is an actual saint) promised to bring in a fur coat for me today and he did and god knows what it's made of, i might take a pic of it and put it on a thread in one of the parts of this forum, because it looks like it's made of black dogs.
Anyway, it's got to be like sixty years old, and i've ripped the lining out of it and am planning to use it to like edge my outfits.
He said he has a few more fur coats at home and asked if i wanted them. I said 'Yes!' I could totally use them.
I just need further inspiration for further pieces :)
Kind of excited about it! Like I am with all inspiration.

coat of dogs' fur aside , i'd love to see even just that clip with fox fur , crying diamonds :woot: if you could possibly display that photo as well !

Still haven't many very good ideas, but excited for when major inspiration comes

thanks very much for those CD ^_^ Both look nothing like what I expected.. So unusual and so tattered

Maybe that could be the inspiration for your project? Rust , age , etc. and put metals with it
japanese label Matohu painted a few outfits of theirs in iron rust dye , for s/s 08

i like seeing the patchwork stitching in the coat
trying to revive a lost nice coat

is the fur still as soft as before?

Ha, well I did say they were manky and mangy
Aye, that's what i'm basing it on.
That is the coat before I've done anything to it  it's so vile, lol
It looks sort of soft but it really isn't.
Btw, the patchwork comment has given me a bit of inspiration ^_^

Thanks!
