Melancholy.
Is the word.

^ Those examples are beautiful

Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna

This one shoot at the Isle of Wight I will forever be in love with.
The second photograph - there's such thought and sadness in her eyes.

Grand Duchess Elizaveta Feodorovna
(The Tsarina's elder sister)

Sorry about the poor quality of the first photograph (the one I prefer)

The sisters both came to seperately tragic ends and I think that emphasizes their beauty and sadness in the photographs.

Crying Diamonds, thank you for the karma, and those last portraits. Melancholic images of elegant women seem to be my oeuvre. Irene Jacob from "The Double Life of Veronique" fits the mold very well. There a lot of pictures from this film online (and it's almost entirely Jacob), here are just a couple:

Right now i'm inspired by Illustrator and graphic artist Yulia Brodskaya. She does some amazing things with paper:

they are like graphic "tricks" i gues ^_^
