InStyle - Worldwide

Interesting. Some of Abbey's shot looks good, and then we get to that blue outfit which seems to be wearing her instead of the other way around. I feel like of all the British glossies, InStyle tries the hardest to be cool.

Jennifer Lopez does not age, she looks great. Gwen's cover would have been lovely if her mouth was closed.

The green Gucci and pastel sash may not match, but Ruth's beauty is so distracting! Hopefully Harper's will be next for her.
The other two edits are immaculately styled, but unfortunately they flow into one another. It's just too similar.

Thanks for the uploads, FashionMayhem!!

I'm very fond of Ruth as an actress, and she's a fresh face for the front of fashion mags, so I really welcome the sight of this cover.

So great to see a fresh cover face, too!

UK InStyle is on sale for £2.50 in Tescos (plus free Ciate nail polish). However, there's no feel of it being a March issue, being 180 pgs, and not many 'big' ads. There's 2 pg Chanel, Giorgio Armani and MaxMara, 1 pg Versace and Cavalli, but the rest is H&M and the usual standard ads for accessories and mascara.

The cover feature with Ruth Wilson (9 pgs) is shot by Rankin, followed by a fashion edit with Brit actress Ellie Bamber (14 pgs), then a 5 pg look at the world of Jeremy Scott.

The beauty section opens with 6 pgs of new make-up trends (mostly small backstage/runway/street shots) then a 7 pg studio feature with singer Dua Lipa. There's a 1 pg focus on Marian Newman (nails) and Guido Palau, then a 2 pg look at 'the new hairdrogyny' (buzz cuts) and Jennifer Garner's beauty advice.

^ I remember that last year their April issue was actually slightly bigger than the March issue.

I think UK Marie Claire, despite everybody's insistence that they're done, actually seems more profitable than InStyle, and quite possibly, Elle. InStyle's weak page count has been worrying for some time now. Not sure how they survive from issue to issue. Simply do not see people buying this magazine. I flipped through the issue with Abbey, and it seems they've not bothered to update the art direction at all.

What in the world is going on with US InStyle?? Awful March cover. Shailene's cover a couple of years back was much nicer than this.
Really not liking the background colors they're using....the white worked much better for them.
