Bummer! My Reg Alexa has the 'wobbly' lock. I didn't notice it at first. But after carrying it for all of, what.... 3 times?? It's started to go a bit wobble happy... so I guess I should be emailing J for a another lock eh??

And yeah chicadee, I have both first and second batch Ames... if i'm honest I much prefer the feel of batch one. Silky soft! And it didn't come with that horrendous stench either! Ooo-weeee!

kat...sorry to tell you...but they look sooo fake in my opinion...i use to go to LV boutique often her and i've never see something like that.... i would go with something wthout writings ( the first one ) and without phyton ( the second ).....fake phyton or lizard ( i don't know ) never seem the real one!

It's really too bad, because (for some reason, I guess I'm the only one!) I reeaally like these two bags!
But it seems that I'd just be much too embarrassed to carry either, especially with your opinion that they just look so fake!
I guess my quest for an awesome black bag continues...

That's what I needed, some feedback about the bags. Just what other people thought when they looked at them, people that maybe know more than me.

hi dangermouse - you know what, when i think about it, the locks on my alexa weren't wobbly either when i first got it or else i would've definitely noticed it since coco pointed it out. i think mine became loose only after use. sigh...do you think you'll need a cobbler to change the lock? it'll have to go through the lining, right? let us know what you end up doing

thanks for the Ame info i would love to have been able to get some batch 1!! especially with the stench of batch 2 i have yet to get my hands on my some silky nbf leather...it sounds and looks so yummy

I am getting the neverfull monogram from Catty, so that'll be my LV,
but I've been searching and searching and SEARCHING for a perfect black bag (any brand/designer) and still haven't found something that's grabbed me.
Black Bals are decent, especially with GH, but still a tad tame for me (I want an attention grabber bag!)
Though, anthra with GGH has caught my eye, and I wouldn't mind owning one...
OR, a giant black pom pom, since that one is a bit different...

Thanks Crystal I think it will definitely sort out the nbf smell!! You can smell Lush perfume a mile off but at least it's sweet natural stink rather than chemical stink

Your Framboise is rar! It's weird because I am not a pink person but there's something about Framboise that I love, it would look so cool with all the nudes around for spring..

And Kat what about an AW Coco Duffel? I adore mine, although I'm not sure it's a perfect rep as I found it before I found you guys

KatInBoots - i was just going to suggest what chupi suggested! i have one from jacky and really like it. it is heavy though so you can't stuff it with too much stuff. i also have the AW donna and that bag is super light...another style to think about

chicadee: The Postman Lock on my Jacky Alexa was wobbly the moment it came out of the bag. I never used it . I took it to two cobblers and they said it could not be fixed. I have an Antony Messenger from Jacky and a Bayswater from Catty and there are no promblems on those locks. Something went wrong with the locks at the factory. Maybe they purchased a faulty batch. I will not wait for it to break only to find out it can't be replaced/fixed. I want a replacement one that does not have these problems.

Do you live in the US? If so just order the Collonil spray from amazon.com and start carrying your Authentic Alexa.
