Yes i have been reading that Bal are phazing out the GGH on TPF, and lets be honest, to a few of us it was always a thorn in our side

even with auth bal no longer producing GGH for every color or style of bag, i think t&d should hold onto it. they often do colors from seasons ago when GGH was the norm, and i'd like to have the option of having GGH on those bags. half of the time, we know what bags came in what styles and in what hardware better than t&d.

chicadee - I don't think the ggh changed from the past. But I don't think it matters anymore since bal is producing less ggh and less ppl will have the ggh bags to compare with ours

the GGH has definitely changed and for the better.

while i was once hating the day, i am now loving it. i have used it all winter through brutal weather, and for traveling. basically, i treated it as my beat around bag for the past two or three months, and it is so smooshy and nice now. it hangs fabulously now, which is what i really disliked about it before. i guess i just had to break it in (too bad it took me two years to do so)!

/\ yeah good point, if they re release colors, then yes it would be good for them to hang on to those GG thimbles.

i bought this bag on a whim because it was in-stock and i'm terribly impatient. i simply hate waiting months for a bag. anywho, i bought it, liked it OK, carried it about twice, let it sit for two years. then the weather was so terrible this winter, i didn't want to carry my "good" bags, so i broke this thing out because i don't really care for it. after the snow, wind, rain, car services, public transit, planes and everything in between, the bag is ridiculously soft and hangs perfectly. it is the ultimate toss 'n go chic bag!

i have matching CP for all my bags, but not the amethyst CP...i feel lonely for it, lol

i carried my OS alexa from jacky today and seriously like it as much as coco likes it when i first got it, i thought the leather was rather stiff compared to the auth; however, just after using it for 1 day the leather has softened up dramatically and looks so soft too. reminds me of a baseball mitt - just gets better with age.

baga - i agree that it is a more difficult to get into vs the city or work style as you need 2 hands to open/close it.

coco - the postman's lock wiggles like a loose tooth - is this how yours was? both of mine from jacky are like that but my auth is screwed on tight not allowing any movement. do you think they're supposed to be like that? i just hope it won't fall off

chicadee: The Postman's lock should not wiggle on the bag. The bag that I received from Catty did not have a wiggling Postman's lock. I will not keep a bag like that as it may just fall off. I returned mine from Jacky for that very reason and posted about it. Did you not read my review? I can't believe that yours has the very same problem. I wonder if dangermouse had a similar issue. I fully expect Jacky to check my Ink bag before sending it to me and the Postman's lock had better not be flimsy.

Why don't you just carry your Authentic Alexa. I cannot wear something that is so loose it might very well fall off.

other alexa owners - do you have a wiggling postman's lock?

i haven't gotten collonil to put on the auth alexa and it's been raining here...again. do you think it's ok to carry in the rain without putting leather care on it?

coco- Did Jacky recieve your damaged OS Alexa yet? Is he cool with the return? what is he like to deal with on a customer service level? He has a reputation so I was curious

Chicadee- Yes I do prefer a 2 handled bag for sure...X body for work sometimes, but in general a 2 handled bag suits my lifestyle best I was happy i tried on the OS Alexa at the Mulberry store on Saturday, as I was thinking of ordering one.

baby_yorkie - is there a big difference in leather between 1st and later batches of amethyst? i'm not sure which batch amethyst day i have but it's thick and pretty supple. only thing is the smell - it's still wreakin'

the first one is pinker/darker. some said the second batch is closer to amethyst...but i love the first batch, like my CP

You need to get Collonil to put on your Alexa. You cannot take it out like that. I sprayed mine twice and it is raining Cats and dogs and not a blemish on her. Do you live in the US? You can purchase Collonil Spray at amazon.com

You have an Authentic Alexa and the locks should not wiggle at all. I pointed out that the locks wiggled in my review and that was the main flaw. I don't see how you can carry that bag in that condition. It is unacceptable to me. The locks on Catty's Alexa did not wiggle but her measurments were off.

My package has not been received by Jacky yet (It is in China though) but now that I know the locks are loose I am going to ask him to go to the factory and make sure that the Ink ones are being made correctly.

bagalicious: I cannot say how Jacky is to deal with on returns as this is my first purchase/return. You have purchased more from him so you would know better than I. It is going to take some time to get my issue sorted out with him as I want bags that are not even available now from him so I really cannot say.

sorry the alexa style did not work out for you. do you think it's similar to the ps1? btw how's your ps1 doing? has the leather gotten smooshy soft and do you carry it often?

/\ I have only purchased 1 bag from Jacky, the infamous PS1 that he didn't let me buy at first because I asked to many questions..remember
Chicadee- I used it yesterday for work, it's a GREAT rep, especially having seen it on Saturday at Barney's, I thought i was looking at mine The leather is soft and it looks cool when i wear motorcylce boots, it's a little awkward compared to 2 handles, but it's a fun bag to wear for work. I wear the 2 straps over my shoulder at exactly the same length for added support, had a few holes put in one of the straps so it would work.

bagalicious: I did not know that at all. I certainly did not ask him alot of questions before buying but I do believe that the lock on the bag should not be wiggling when it is brand new. I will let you know how it all turns out but it is going to be a while.

Yes when the PS1 hit the scene I ordered one and I asked him a few questions...seiously maybe 4..normal questions ( 4 E mails)...and I paid and everything and he E mailed me back and said he had refunded my money as i would not be happy with it...

Thats why I had said that Jacky my boyfriend had dumped me.

Of course the lock should not be faulty, But like i said, it will be interesting to see what his "customer service" is like
