I guess that's it. She's way too short for this dress, it fits her all wrong. Although not my style, I actually thought the model looked good wearing it.
Pucci - I don't think there's a problem with the dress - despite the print, its a 1940's tea dress. I was looking at the pictures from the fall show and thought that this collection did not have the trashiness of Summer 09. Personally, I think it's Siennas styling that's off - the red lipstick, the hair and doubtless the sl*tty connotations that she engenders... Marant's catwalkers were unmade up with nude faces and unstyled hair.
I tried on an IM blouse last week that was basically the top half of Sienna's dress but in a semi-sheer blue toned floral print. It was delightful and I am definitely considering it.
I'm not that surprised. It's hard when you are an online store/community to sell a brand that you have to go through a lot more work to sell (ie take phone orders for instead of online). I'm guessing Impulse will no longer stock the line either?
I really do not get all this secrecy. And the brand must be really trying to position itself in another market, yesterday i saw a pair of suede pants that costed 880 something pounds.
I would love it if Isabel Marant opened a standalone boutique in London or at least had more of a UK presence. I know that Liberty and Aime stock IM but they obviously can't carry all the pieces. To be honest after shopping in Paris for IM, Liberty's selection can be disappointing.
Les Sucettes - the suede pants I saw here were priced at 850 Euros. It would seem that Marant is positioning itself differently in the Market from say 3 or 4 years ago when stuff reached a max of 1000 E for a fur jacket/coat.
Oh yes, I wished it too, it's the store I miss the most here. The IM selection in both of those stores is indeed poor. I guess Liberty went shopping when the Euro was almost the same as the pound, and now that it is a bit higher, all the prices are going thru the roof.
OTWY - I am not sure to which model you are refering Leyla_M! I know I was a bit shocked when I learned that the studded low boot was 825 Euros - to be honest they seemed rather overpriced!
haha grill, i am not sure bout the name myself sorry
yes the prices are MAAAAAAADDD!
i really wanted the ones from last season with the chains just dunno if i will ever find them?§
Leyla - bizzarrely Le Bon Marche had a pair on display like last week which was weird as they weren't available to buy with the summer collection. I can't recall if they were black or light beige - but they were definitely there and were the high heeled version. You could call them!
i would if all i had were good experience with french workforce
unfortunately as sad as it is i cant get myself to call just to protect myself from unnecessary anger... they are always so unhelpful in that store...
I just ordered some isabel marant pieces at printemps through their personal shopper service. They ship worldwide! This is great news for people like me who live in a city without isabel marant. They have pieces that arent available in the US yet. I'm very happy! Can't wait to receive my order!
you can contact them at +33(0)1 42 82 66 11. Look for Milena, she's very helpful. I sent pictures of all the styles I wanted and she emailed me back with the price, available sizes and colors, etc. They ship within a week of ordering. Hope this helps!
^ that's good to know pen602! Printemps carries a great selection of IM - I checked out the suede over knee boots today - they're 875 Euros. I like the look on the catwalk but personally would prefer flat over the knees to the high heels these ones have.
Bought one of IM Etoile's super soft tees for the first time today in the mid -grey - just love the cut so simple and feminine. Wished they did it in black as well - would have been ideal.
