wondering if anyone has successfully been able to return an isabel marant item to creatures of comfort. according to usps, the package was received by them over two weeks ago and i have yet to receive a refund. i called the store to follow up and the girl said if i sent an e-mail with my info she would forward it to the owner to process. but the girl sounded like such a space cadet, i have my doubts on whether she actually did this.

what to do? anyone else have trouble with CoC?

i do recall a while back, maybe 2 seasons when i had to wait a couple of weeks for a refund to be issued. they have a nice selection of im but can be lax about issuing a refund in a timely manner. its annoying when this happens.

Hi Charps,

You may want to try By George, a boutique in Austin, TX for the brown colorway of the Jelung jacket. I was there 2 weeks ago and they had the jacket in a size 1 and 2. I purchased the size 1 so the size 2 may still be there. I don't think Isabel Marant is particularly popular here in Austin so you may be in luck. I think they do ship internationally but I don't know how much they charge. Their number is 877.472.5951. If you can't get in touch with them, I was planning on going there this weekend to pick up some more IM goodies so I can check again then. Good luck, I hope you can get the jacket! :flower:

thanks so much for the tip. I'll try them tomorrow. what is the sizing like with this jacket? what size do you normally take (US) if you got the 1? thanks again.

I am normally a US size 0-2. The 1 fits well on me - loose enough that I can wear a thicker knit underneath. I am usually a 0 in IM but like to size up for jackets. Hope this helps!

porkchopgirl-- I was never issued a refund for an item; when I called they said I had a credit. CoC has the strangest customer service of them all. You have to be diligent with them, so, I would give them a call.

Regarding the late refund policies, I have the impression (but i'm not absolutely certain) that it may take as long as 15 days for some refunds to appear in your credit card statement...

at least, this is what I have faced in a few cases, one of them Yoox (last month), but also hotels

porkchop, you might already have your answer, but i would second the suggestion to call or email them. when i was looking through old credit card statements, i realized i was never given a refund for a dress i had returned several months before. i emailed them, and they said they would take care of it. after a week and no action, i called my credit card company and had the charge reversed. the store didn't dispute that, so this might be the solution to take if there's too much delay or hassle.

thanks for all the helpful replies, everyone!

ok, so update--i just called again and the girl said she would have the owner call me tomorrow. so, we'll see how that goes. if the owner gives me any crap, then i'm gonna do like quimby and ask my credit card company to issue a chargeback. i hope it doesn't come to that...

it's a shame that CoC has such great merchandise. i'm pretty sure i never want to shop there again.

i am going to Paris this thursday, are prices significantly cheaper there for IM ... maybe i'll find my 'jelung' jacket there! x

i was in portland, oregon yesterday and saw the red jacket in multiple sizes at odessa. google the store and give them a call!

New here! love this thread.

I was wondering about Bird. I emailed them over a week ago to let me know what Isabel Marant items they have in stock, but I have not received a response from them. Does anyone know if they have much in stock? Would it be worth calling them to ask?

Does anyone know the price of the Bator coat? I really need it but I don't know if I can afford it.

Frenger,
I ordered the Bator Coat this past monday from Odessa. It cost 756, Stuart and Wright has/had it for 798 i think. maybe it costs significantly less in Europe? good luck with your search, so many women love this coat.

Oh, I hope it's a bit cheaper in Paris. I'm going to Paris in the end of December and I hope the jacket is still available or discounted, haha. I really want to order it now so I can wear the jacket during winter but I have a weird body so I can't take the risk of buying without trying on in case it won't fit as nice as on Daria Werbowy in Vogue.

What kind of fabric is the jacket? Wool? Is it appropriate for the cold winter weather in Scandinavia?

haha, i just wore mine today because of the cool chill in the air in the northeast. it is wool and fits small because it is a narrow cocoon shape on the bottom. love the lighter lining she used to set off the tweed. it is a great coat.

Isabel Marant to Open in Soho

Calling all Isabel Marant fans of New York: You can now raise your voices in a collective, chic cheer. As tweeted by our own Nicole Phelps, who spoke with the designer backstage before her show earlier today, Marant will open a boutique at the “very beginning of 2010″—so very soon!—in Soho near the corner of Broome and Greene. It’s sweet music to the ears of the growing flock of Marant-ites who regularly scour stores like Bird, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, and Curve to get their fix. Check back here tomorrow for the full report on what you’ll be buying this Spring.

I'm going to Paris in the beginning of March. Anyone knows when the spring collections arrive in the stores? Is IM cheaper in Paris?

I have the Bator coat too and it's sooo good!!! (though I haven't worn it out just yet - not cold enough where I live ). I'm normally a 1 and bought it in a 1, though it's definitely a coat where you can size up (due to it's shape).

Re: the IM boutique in NY - they've been talking about this for over a year now, so I won't believe it 'til I see it. But if true, this bodes very badly for my bank account :)
