^the top is so cute!

Thanks Stealthmodesteph for the link. I'd really like one of those plaid dress.

seeing the spring Etoile collection come in makes me kind of sad. I've been looking for a white or ecru blousy tunic top ... IM used to do these so well. I suspect she's moved away from this aesthetic entirely. The last time she did a good blousy tunic, I got the black version instead of the white, now I wish I had purchased both!

I guess I am left to cherish the old things I have. This old outfit is composed of all Marant, except the shoes (hopefully I haven't posted this outfit here before). The top is close to what I want ... alas, it's a tank, and I want something with a 3/4 billowy sleeves.

I realized I have this tunic, but it's still not what I want ... the cotton is a stiff twill, I want a flowy cotton ... if anyone knows where to get a top like this, let me know!

Tourist10 I've seen a blouse very like you've describes in the new etoile collection. It's similar to the picture above but with no cut down the front and in a very light cotton (you might need to wear a vest underneath). I can find out the name of it next week if you like as I'll probably be going in then.

^I did too. It's a very simple gathered at the collar blouse.

pucci - I know what you mean, I never get bored of that style, and IM really does it so well.

thanks for the tip pembldon and Aby! I think I know what top you are talking about ... I think the one thing it's missing is the sort of billowy 3/4 sleeve that I love.

this top from Heist's etoile buy is the perfect shape, just not the color/pattern I'm looking for (although very adorable!).

Yes popped into the shop today and it was the santo top in the link. I like the look of the saul dress but preferably in an off white/ ecru. Does anyone remember a long sleeved cotton sundress she did last summer? it was quite loose had a kind of crinkley linen texture, quite billowy and was cream. I missed out on it last time as they sold out of my size and have been determined since to get one this season straight away. I just wonder if the saul is the closest I'd get.

when is their store going to open in soho?

ISABEL MARANT ANNOUNCES ARRIVAL WITH THE HELP OF MR. HATMAN

Monday, February 8, 2010, by Izzy Grinspan

New signs in the the windows of 55 Greene Street inform anyone strolling through Soho that chic, laid-back French boutique Isabel Marant will be opening in April. Actually, what they say is this: "Mr Hatman and his brothers at work" and "Mr Hatman is proud to announce you the opening of the first Isabel Marant store in NYC." Mr Hatman's English might be slightly fractured, but Marant has been using him as a spokesperson for a while now, so it's only natural that she would have brought him to New York.

You know I disliked most of the SS 10 collection.

I went 2 or 3 times at her stores since the new collection arrived but for the first time in years, there's nothing from the main line that I want.

All the bejewelled tweed jackets, lurex items, neon pinks: not for me.

Even the shoes left me bored and it's so expensive.

On the other hand, Etoile has a few pieces I'd like to get.

This time, the distinction between the 2 lines is really obvious!

^ Me too.... sigh.

Aby I agree, I'm not really interested in the main line at all, it all seems so loud.

There is talk of a London store but who knows when that would be. A store would be amazing. On seeing one of the ss 10 dresses in the Heist link I called Aime today and they've sold out already. This obviously made me go from 'quite liking it' to 'have to have it'. Called Bluebird, Liberty, Start, Diverse and Matches, none of them got it in. I would love to go to the store and not go through this hassle every time I see something I want.

Isabel Marant for little girls!

^So cute! What size would a dress for a ten year old be? About a 146? Isabel Marant dresses tend to be much too big on me, so it would have been nice to get something from the girls label, but 10 ans must be way too small because I'm 5'7":lol:

I agree with you Aby - I bought two pairs of Etoile trousers - black and petrol blue - a carrot shape with a paperbag waist. They are so good but there was very little else i wanted.

I really dislike the boots - and all the hype that surrounds them.

I have so much Isabel marant from previous seasons that I have plenty to wear!
