pembldon - how are you liking the striped mohair jumper? i'm debating getting it.

I'm not 100%. It's quite itchy and it doesn't seem to sit as well as it does on Kate or Freya (but that's probably because I'm not a supermodel!) I don't know, I just don't feel as chic as I feel I should. I'm going to hold onto it though as it seems to be sold out most places and I don't want to regret it later. I can always stick it on e bay if I change my mind.

quite...
and i think i might even like this stuff better...

there is a shop in soho that carries IM and also carries this stuff...
funny...
:p

I totally agree actually.....I have a really lovely IRO jacket for summer and its much nicer than those IM trophy jackets.....more subtle and less exposed too. The best trousers I have are by IRO and I like them so much I had a tailor copy them.

I just got the Baki coat and I love it. I have never seen the Bator IRL but I am really happy with the fit and fabric of the Baki, especially at the price point. Oh, and I ordered the Cati mohair sweater from Stuart and Wright (amazing customer service) and sized up (thanks pembidon!). I am hoping it has a slouchier fit on me.

pembldon - thanks for the advice! I got the striped jumper too, but the SA at stuart & wright recommended staying true to size.

Have you got it? how do you find it? I realised why I didn't feel so good in mine, the first black stripe accross the shoulders was really out of proportion with the rest so there was a huge expance of black at the top and looked really uneven. So I've taken it back and ordered another from Aime. I've been told that it's actually a different one from the catwalk show, that is mainline and has lurex through it.

pembldon I just got the Cati pullover today and I actually love it. It's itchy but not the itchiest sweater I have. Also, I got the 1 (I'm normally a 1) and lik the fit. I actually think it's a bit too boxy to size up. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, and hope the mainline one works out. I think I saw the one you're getting in Nylon on Drew Barrymore. Is it red/beige?

am I the only person who finds the naming of each item incredibly irritating? Its all part of the huge hype around these clothes and I find it all very conceited....and contrived....presumably by the marketing men she's likely hired to break into the US market...... The celeb-ification continues.....these days even the clothes themselves are taking on celeb status. Its pathetic.
well, she certainly seems to believe her own hype ... i read her interview in elle uk today and she sounds so full of herself that i found her off putting...

i also read that today and it made me totally love her even more. it makes me happy to hear that quote that "she doesn't design for breasts" (or something like that, not that exact phrase) because she doesn't have any herself

She also compared herself namely to Vanessa Bruno (according to Marant, Bruno designs for blondes while herself for brunettes). I thought that a tad condescending and unnescessary.

yeh that is v. annoying - the reality is that VB's clothes are more intellectual and interesting as well as being less visible .....and IM's clothes are (these days) more sexed-up and bling. So were I to participate in the cliche she is proposing of blonde vs. brunette (which is a load of sh*ite anyway) I'd say IM was far more blonde.

I like that she makes clothes for small breasted women though.....

here you go! :) i am surprised nobody else had scanned it actually. and on the elle US september 2010 thread there is also another interview but i don't think it's as good as this one.

Thank you very much for the scans.

I sincerely do not know what to think about this interview. And I'm quite shocked that she has Rhianna in her inspiration board because i simply abhor everything she wears. Well i guess it's explained her new fascination with Bling. And looking at the models she chooses for the catwalk I would be hard pressed to image that she designs for brunettes...:innocent:

I'm thinking of buying those shoes she wearing, i tried them on and they are gorgeous, but they are quite high, the heel is positioned in way that when you look at them it look quite reasonable but when you tried them on is when you feel they are truly really high shoes. After seeing them referred everywhere as kitten heels it was quite a surprise. :ninja:

i know i thought that too but they're 4.5" i really want to try them on but i am going to france soon. does anyone know the best place outside of paris to buy IM? i am thinking maybe nice and monaco will have good items.

Yes some kitten heels this ones are.
She used to have a map on her website of all her stores and shops you could buy her stuff in Europe, maybe it survived overhaul of the website last year.

Not sure about Nice or Monaco (i've never seen any cool shops in Monaco) but there are a couple of good stores in Avignon and Aix - the one in Avignon is better in my opinion - i just like their vibe - and its called So'oh. I can't remember the name of the shop in Aix.....
