My best friend is a Juicy addict! Anything Juicy she loves and I don't understand it! Why would you wanna pay like $150 for a terry cloth or velour hoodie just b/c it has a zipper with a "J" on it? And $200 for the plain pants that look like they could've come from Target or Walmart? She has 7 Juicy hoodies and all the "J" zipper pulls broke and fell off! I could understand if the quality of the fabric and workmanship was outstanding, but PLEASE! The fabric is TERRY CLOTH! And all the Juicy clothes that i've seen, look and feel so cheap! Threading is loose, stitching is all junked up... I paid $350 for my D&G hooded zip up, so I'm not saying that you shouldn't spend alot of money on clothes, but comparing fabric and quality, and also not to mention the brand, but mine is to die for! The feel, the fit, the time someone took to make it so neat looking, is just incomparable! Don't get me wrong, I love designer labels, but that is b/c I know alot of time & effort went into making them appear so high end. Why is Juicy even called Juicy COUTURE? In my opinion, it totally degrades the meaning of what couture really is.

SO... What do you girlies out there think about Juicy? To die FOR or FROM the obviously quadrupled priced Wal-Mart quality merchandise?

Juicy's not my favorite either... and especially recently when they're becoming too "inspired" by other designs (like Luella... )

I have a friend just like that. She is sickeningly addicted to Juicy. I am not exagerating when I say she must have upwards of 10 individual hoodies, 10 pairs of jeans, 10 sweat suits (assorted velour and terry), countless tees (I gander about 40), three bags, two of the cashmere outfits, like 15 skirts, and limitless misc. stuff. When ever we go out she buys at least one Juicy thing, its really weird. But really most Juicy stuff is actually not $$$. $50-70 for a skirt, $40 for a tee, and $80 for velour pants isnt bad. The quality is actually better than most companies, at least thats what I have found to be true.

Personally, I don't love the stuff but I do have some things that I wear when I am too lazy for real clothes.

some of the men's sweatsuits are OK. I picked up one this week at neiman marcus and i think it was a little under 300. I actually got it because i really liked the color schemes in the top and bottoms. I cant see going overboard like yur friend but their stuffs alright

i like juicy, i have one full velour suit and the terry dress. Their jeans are of good quality. But od'ing is od'ing no matter what the brand, i mean, i'd say this about girls who have 20+ pairs of seven for all mankind.

everytime i see them in a shop, they literally ask for "everything JUICY you have" and buy it all
it could be the ugliest tee shirt or the worst color hoodie, they just got to have it and the mum encourages her by pushing her to buy even more... i swear ive never seen that..

funny thing is, they still look unbelievably BAD
think wannabe PARIS and NICKY girls

i think its ok to spend that much if one is not obsessed with that label but to think its a COOL label is wrong IMO

Yeah, I have a pair of the men's velour pants. I love them, they're so comfortable, but I would never buy an entire wardrobe of Juicy. I mean, it is incredibly overpriced considering what it is. A couple of pieces of Juicy is one thing, but to actually be addicted to it is a little rediculous, you could probably buy a major designer garment for what you'll spend on velour and terrycloth.

i have a men's brown juicy track suit. they arn't exactly the best quality, i mean i have sweatpants that have held up better than them but thats not why i like them. i think the cut on the pants is really good. usually men's lounge wear is all cut huge and has a really long rise. i think the juicy pants have a nice fit, on me. not too loose but not tight at all (actually i sized up on the pants, just cuz i liked how they looked baggy on me). yeah, and they don't taper, which is my big thing lol. i hate tapering! and the rise is just right.

i've had mine for about 7-8 months and the fabric isn't as sturdy and hasn't worn the way i thought i would, but i like the cut of them, no doubt. the jacket is cool too, but i rarely ever wear them together, i feel like a trend wh*re when i wear both at the same time.

The quality isn't that great, but I love the cut of the sweat pants (the fleece, not a fan of the terry or velour). It's really hard to find sweats that look decent and are comfortable and I think Juicy does a good job of that. That being said I wouldn't rely on them for an entire wardrobe.

i own four pieces of juicy clothing:

-a cashmere hoodie i got on sale at bloomingdales for a ridiculously low price. i have no idea why it was on sale, it is in perfect condition and i wear it all the time and just love it. it is unbelievably soft and comfortable and definitely one of my favorite things to wear.

-a pair of jeans which, in retrospect, i wish i hadn't bought, except for the fact i got them on discount. they're nothing special, they look just like my (much cheaper) levis.

-a cute black t-shirt decorated with orange rhinestones, again purchased on sale.

-a striped neon pink t-shirt i bought from some outlet store five years ago for $4. cute! can't beat the price, but it's not the greatest quality. definitely wouldn't have coughed up for it retail.

for lines like juicy couture you're paying for the label, of course. if you don't care to be a walking billboard why bother? it's not like their designs are unique. so i've only ever bought juicy clothes when i felt like i was getting a good deal and the inflated price had fallen back down to earth, and also when i felt like they weren't so immediately identifiable as juicy. otherwise i think i'd just feel like i was paying good money to do someone else's advertising.

I can't stand Juicy. First, the name grosses me out. Mainly because I am mentally 12, and fill in the blank with "fart." Yes, I am a nasty cow. Let's move on.

Secondly, I don't like sweats. I don't care how pretty the color is, or if it is made out of velour, it is still a damn pair of sweats and makes the wearer look sloppy and schlumpfy, no matter how nice of a body the wearer has. In my personal fashion lexicon, sweats are only acceptable for workout wear, pyjamas, or possibly for doing messy work around the house.

Third: label overload. As many have said, Juicy has become such a godawful fad that it is everywhere to the point where if you didn't hate it when it first came out, you're probably heartily sick of it now. Some big trends I have liked, even when they went into overload status, but in this case, the trendy goods weren't even that attractive or nice of quality to start with, and when everyone and his dog is wearing crappy, ugly trend-of-the-minute wear, it is a bit of a blight on the fashion landscape.

Fourth: It has been done before and done better. Hell, back in the 1980s, when aerobics were the biggest news to hit, and Flashdance was inspiring thousands of young women everywhere to cut the sleeves off of their sweatshirts, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, among others, introduced posh lines of workoutwear that was used by most customers for regular daytime clothing. I think Sonia Rykel's major breakthrough came through a tangent from that trend.

{OT} Incidents like this are why I have installed a lock on my sewing room door. My two adorable but completely evil little furbeasts are SO not allowed in the sewing room. I learnt my lesson after about the 40th time of scouring the floor with a big magnet after one or the other of them dumped my pin-tin.

At the moment, I am hoarding a couple of metres of olive-green chiffon with gold chainstitch embroidery. It will become a kimono-shaped overblouse, when I clear out a few customer projects and can devote a little time to my own sewing.
