Keira Knightley

The Duchess isn't going to be shown at the Venice Film Festival I'm afraid. :(

I'm not sure why not but the line-up for the festival has been released today and there's only about 5 English speaking films on there. At least we've got the Toronto Film Festival though, they're quite close together so we won't have to wait too long!!

Too bad about Venice, but as long as the movie comes out I don't even care at this point. I just want more of her on screen.

Great article too, btw.

So am I :( I miss the days when we used to get candids of her pretty much every week.

I can't decide. I want to see Edge of Love mostly to see her sing and because her mum wrote it (want to see how good she is), but The Dutchess looks like a movie I'd want to see no matter who was in it since I'm a geek like that.

There's an article in Vogue UK (I think the July issue, or the June issue) about her mom writing the screenplay. I'll see if I can find it- it talks about her mother's writing process of the film and I found it quite interesting.

Oh thank you both. Funny, seems Keira never ends up playing the parts people intend her to. Joe wanted her to play Briony and her mum wanted her to play Caitlin not Vera. I just think it's neat/funny/odd.

ooo i love those Pride pictures, she was so beautiful in that movie. and i can never tire of that green dress in Atonement.

Apparently Keira is in the September issue of Tatler (UK), I don't know if this means she's on the cover or if she just has an interview inside but I'm hoping for new pictures either way!!

She'll also be on the cover for the September issue of Glamour (UK)! Glamour are normally quite good at getting a new photo shoot (though they're not as guaranteed as say Elle or Vogue) so fingers crossed she'll have had time to do one, they're normally quite fun as well!

Oscar-nominated actress Keira Knightley has revealed how she won the lead role in a new film version of My Fair Lady - she was tipsy at the audition.

The 23-year-old Atonement star admitted being so stagestruck by performing for famous theatre impressario Cameron Mackintosh, who is co-producing the film, that she needed Dutch courage.

'It was in front of Cameron himself, so the only option was to get drunk,' she said. 'I probably did slur my words. I can't remember.'

Knightley will play Eliza Doolittle opposite Daniel Day-Lewis as Henry Higgins - and she plans to sing all the classic numbers, including Wouldn't It Be Loverly? and The Rain In Spain, herself. The full interview with Keira appears in the September issue of Glamour magazine.

I'm so excited to see her in My Fair Lady :buzz: So many Keira interviews, so little time!!

So she's definitely in My Fair Lady? She was asked a few times on TV interviews and said she didn't know if she was fully on board!

Looks like she has! Well according to the Glamour interview anyway, I'm sure they'd have made sure to ask whether or not she's actually got the role (at least I hope they would have and not just jumped to the conclusion that she has!)
