What does someone's own appearance have to do with bigotry? Why is it 'hypocritical'? Are you saying she shouldn't be racist because she is 'other' herself? I am not black but I don't think this way because I have grown up in London and don't really 'see' colour at all.

i think the other poster meant that being that kelis is black, she probably was exposed to some form of racism herself, so she should know firsthand how hurtful racist comments are, and its not a generalization to say most blacks were exposed to some form of racism in their lifetime.
