Lady Gaga’s latest song “Yoü And I” is still among the top ten singles according to Billboard, but the singer is already planning her next radio release. The fifth cut from Gaga’s multi-platinum album Born This Way is the fan favorite dance track “Marry The Night,” which was produced by Fernando Garibay and is inspired by Gaga’s love for her hometown New York City.

“I wrote so many songs on this new album about New York City, but one in particular ‘Marry The Night,’ that record is about my husband, New York,” she told MTV prior to the album release.

“You know, we’ve been working together for years, so I’m so excited. I feel like, you and I have yet to have our big hit record,” Gaga said of collaborating with Garibay. “I kept saying to him, ‘I don’t want to do anything I’ve done before. I don’t want to sound like anything I’ve done before.’”

“He goes ‘Your show is a religion and your fans are a cult,’” she recalled. “And I heard these church bells. It’s this epic music. It’s just so big. And I started to cry. He said, ‘What’s wrong?’ And I said,’I can’t believe that you hear me so big.’ ”

“It’s like Whitney, but imagine if Bruce Springsteen had a baby with Whitney Houston — that’s what it is,” she added. “And that was it! We made a baby. Finally. After all that fornication, miserably long and tedious, Fernando and I finally conceived.”

“Marry The Night” debuted on Billboard’s top 100 singles back in May, when it reached number 79 due to strong digital sales following the release of Born This Way.

I agree with Libra and hope Heavy Metal Lover will be her next single (after the MTN).

Marry the night was one of my least favourites from the album, alongside with You & I.
I am also rooting for Heavy metal lover or Scheisse to be the next single. Those were my absolute favourites

“It’s like Whitney, but imagine if Bruce Springsteen had a baby with Whitney Houston — that’s what it is,” she added.

LOVE this. and it's so true! it's got the epic pop sound of whitney - but still a bit gritty and rocky like springsteen. also - i've loved this track from the first time i heard it. still, "Edge of Glory" is my favourite song on the album.

the story above about Jamey literally made me cry.

NEVER has an international popstar been SO vocal and diligent and unwavering in their support and genuine care for gay rights. and this particular situation is even bigger than that. it's about CHILDREN. kids cannot be killing themselves because they're ceaselessly tortured by other kids about who they are. we have to celebrate these brave kids and let them know that THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. and they are valued!

Gaga is an inspiration on so many levels. she's inspiring in her fearless fashion sense. she's inspiring in her talent and dedication to her art. but, to me, she's most inspiring in her tireless efforts in the fight for causes dear to her heart. she's a champion. and i literally love her. and thank her immensely. a true icon.

Beautiful words, HappyCanadian. :flower:

The good thing about 'Marry the Night' being the next single is that whatever is next (
Scheiße or HML hopefully) will be much more interesting. Don't get me wrong I don't think that MTN is a bad song at all but I just feel that there are better choices. Of course releasing songs like 'The Edge of Glory'/ 'Yoü and I' have been smart choices because they show Gaga in a different light as an artist. I think that 'Marry the Night' will continue on that path. :flower:

Thanks for the videos, Teja. B)

^ With her fit figure she can pull that pants suit off beautifully, even though she isn't that tall!! ^_^
(I wonder what the Mother Monster book is all about...)

Gaga will be on Jonathan Ross next Saturday night, performing the new single as well as being interviewed.

I'm pretty sure that the book is a fan-made gift, which probably has a lot of clippings, pics et cetera. B)

Flashback:

Thanks for the info Honeycombchild & thanks for the pics Anet. I really like the look Gaga had while performing. :flower:

^ It is so cute how she takes time for everyone...I saw the cutest short clip where a girl was asking her to sign something for her in a huge crowd while she was sitting in the car like above, and Gaga said who should I sign it to, and the girl said "Catherine". And Gaga said "Wait- is that Catherine with a C or Katherine with a K?" I thought that was so sweet, that she would care and take an extra minute to consider it...^_^

^ Agreed... I love her bc of that. She isn't only taking pics when cameras are around...she seems to really care.

Tony Bennett Unveils ‘The Lady Is A Tramp’ Video

Tony Bennett has premiered the music video for his rendition of the jazz classic “The Lady Is A Tramp” with Lady Gaga. The clip gives a glimpse at the two recording their vocals for the song in studio in New York City back in August.

“She’s the best,” Bennett said of working with Gaga. “She was so spontaneous and improvised. What’s interesting about her, other than any person I’ve ever met in the entertainment world, she changes from day to day.” Watch the newly-released video below…

“The Lady Is A Tramp” is taken from Bennett’s newest album Duets II, which last week debuted atop the Billboard 200 with over 179,000 copies sold, becoming Bennett’s first number one record after sixty years and making the 85-year old singer the oldest living act to top a Billboard chart. B)
