Also, Leighton is gorgeous. She's always well-dressed, and her skin is flawless. Plus, she hasn't done anything really stupid (e.g. Lohan, Hilton, Spears-esque).

I thought it was great! Her voice is really deep and mellow sounding, it was surprising...

just to clarify about the US Weekly story; Leighton and her representatives did not approach US to sell the story or anything like that.

The story was pulled together from various snippets of interviews/quotes with Leighton, her parents, random co-stars. And then combined with some research.

It wasn't an "exclusive" sold story by any means, but having read the interview I am pleasantly suprised at how relatively balanced the article was, and it didn't seem overly invasive or manipulative (ie. no massive bias, or trying to demonise).

She looks really pretty in the Perry Hagopian shots, and I love that greenish dress. Why can't tabloids just get over where she was born? I'm sure she's not the only one who was born in a jail cell (if she actually was, and they're not just stretching the truth). If her mom was a drug smuggler, who cares? Leighton is her own person and not her mother.

^^^ Word. No one gets to choose their parents or their families. It's disgusting to me that they keep on bringing that up about her. I think the real story here is that someone from such an under-privileged background could still beat the odds to make her dreams come true. It also shows that talent and hard work mean something in the world.
Why don't they do covers on certain girls who were born into circumstances that most people could only dream of, with every opportunity and door open to them, whose claims to fame are showing the whole world their hoochies on sex tapes?
