I had to search The Sartorialist to find this pic, I think it's the exact same suit. This girl wears it much better than Leighton in my opinion. Obviously Leighton had to make it red-carpet worthy, so I get it, and still find it to be a valiant effort by Leighton and her stylist. At the very least it's a fresh spin on women wearing black & white tux inspired pieces on the runway. And I agree, for once I like her toned down shoe choice.

I think Leighton looks great in the suit, but it seems like it's lacking something to make it pop. Despite the purple heels and dramatic make-up, it's rather monochromatic and safe. I think a colourful tie or over the top headband would have made it more standout.
