Leighton Meester

Oh God that tattoo is horrendous! She must have got it when she was really young!

I don't care for her tattoo, but at least it's small, not tasteless (even it is is tacky looking) and semi-discreet. (Can't say the same for Ed's!)

Aww. There's actually a sweet story behind her tattoo; it was designed by a friend and she had it in memory of one of her best work experiences. She's still best friends with those people till this day.

Poor Leighton! Just made another Worst Dressed Celebs list--TFS's list. The upside: Blake isn't listed among the best-dressed. The downside: Leighton is listed alongside Taylor "I wore lingerie as outerwear" Momsen.

Leighton's stylish--are you paying attention? That makes 2 worst dressed lists (plus 1 tabloid article). Your styling isn't helping Leighton's career! Get it together!

I love tFS, but their reasoning was stupid. Her look may be a hit or miss with people generally, but it's nice to see someone so young be so experimental and unpredictable on the red carpet. She also makes a best dressed list for every worst (Fashionista.com's, RedCarpetFashionAwards, Vogue Paris Online...) I also really disagree with your last statement. Despite being on these worst dressed lists, she's getting fashion and beauty campaigns around the world and is close friends with some really important people in fashion on her own merit so....:innocent:

I don't think it's Leighton or Taylor's goals to make Best Dressed anyway.

True- but Taylor has distinguished herself by dressing like an idiot, and Blake has been praised everywhere for wearing impressive outfits (on most occasions)- I think Leighton and her career would only benefit from some beautiful outfits- she certainly has the looks to pull it off...If a young actress has the opportunity to stand out from the crowd, it is best not to have it happen because of comically awful clothes...In nominating her for Worst Dressed of the Year on Fashion Police, they showed a picture of her in that hideous black assless pantsuit thing, and said she looks like the genie that comes out of a Jack Daniels bottle ....Even if fashion isn't her big thing, that is not the sort of media attention a beautiful young actress needs... :( and let's not forget- GG is the fashion TV show the last few years, I think it comes with a certain amount of expectations from the public and the media...

I think Blake's only been praised by Vogue, but because it's Vogue so everyone kind of goes along with it? I think she wears a lot of cute things, I get her appeal, but I don't remember anything she wears and don't think she has any personal style at all. A lot critics and blogs also agree with me and their opinion is just as good if not better than tabloids or some tabloidish channel, for which I'm glad Leighton doesn't appeal to.

A lot of Leighton's charm is in the fact that she's natural and takes risks and is appreciated by a more avant-garde crowd. Smaller fashion houses love her. The girl is not exactly left out of the rain here. Jason Wu named her one of his muses, Marc Jacobs and Peter Dundas adore her. Prabal Gurung chose her as his date at the CFDA and made a custom dress for her to wear... and if those rumors about Missoni are true, how is she not benefiting from having a fearless, unique style as opposed to what "mainstream beautiful"? She's always sitting in the front row with the most respected. And I'm just going to say I'd rather these people sing her praises than E!

The point is I wouldn't like her half as much (and I'm sure a lot of her fans) if she came off like she needed validation or approval from the public.

I also think the E! Fashion Police thing was just trying to stir up controversy by making Blake best dressed and Leighton worst as an extension of their television characters rivalry. It's not that serious.

^ Yes, but I think it would be hard to deny that Leighton has worn some jaw-droppingly bad looks the last year or so- I can't really blame the mainstream media for having a few "WTF??" comments...I just think at this point in her career, she could do much better in establishing a positive fashion image, especially with her beauty and access to style assistance...just my opinion...;)

I admit those outfits were WTF-worthy, but people tend to remember those more than when she's universally a fashion-hit (which happens way more). After following Leighton for so long, the thing I respect most about her is she doesn't sell stories or release statements to those types of "news" outlets or give them any reason to run a story on her unless she's promoting her show or movie (something I can't say for her castmates who overdo it a bit... like, even Blake who's supposed to be high-end still calls the paparazzi to have them follow her around so she can advertise cameras, t-shirts, and cellphones and doesn't hesitate comment on her relationship status to get the most publicity out of her dating rumors). That's why it seems so significant when they get an opportunity to tear into Leighton's wild and scandalous fashions, you know?

I think no matter what, no star is going to please everyone so it's best if they just do whatever they want. I don't even think she has a negative "fashion image", but I like where Leighton is going career-wise moreso than where Kate Bosworth or Camilla Belle are going with their positive fashion image.

It took me like 5 minutes to even see what tattoo yall were talking about. who cares, everyone has bad tattoos. and its so small you can barely even notice it.

I can't believe you're arguing about a best dressed list compiled by Joan Rivers :innocent:

Who cares if she has had some bad outfits this year? She is always interesting on the red carpet and never takes herself seriously. The truth of the matter is, can anybody even remember some of the outfits Blake Lively wore last year? Well, I can't. That girl is a bore. I kind of liked her in the Lanvin dress at the Scream Awards, but she ruined it with the makeup. She also seems to be obsessed with Christian Louboutin shoes. Yawnathon.

I think everything that needed to be said about Leighton and the best dressed lists of 2010 has been said. Yes, she's worn some WTF-worthy outfits, and yes, she's worn some really great outfits as of late. But it's a new year now, full of upcoming events and promotional tours and fashions weeks and the rest of the 4th season of GG. I'm really just looking forward to what Leighton will do with 2011, and to see how her shoe collection grows

I'd also really like to see her in more editorials and definitely on more covers (as has been said before). Hopefully, her team can get this going.

I might be out of theme here, but yesterday i saw the trailer of her upcoming movie, I really loved it!

Wow, someone got really hot and bothered! Geesh! I didn't say anything negative about Leighton. I merely reported she was on a worst dressed list alongside Taylor. And, BTW: Taylor has 1 or 2 deals too and also hangs out with rich and famous people.

I said nothing to warrant your psycho defense of Leighton (I note Boomer's comments wriled you up too). Calm down and take breath next time. And stop assuming if we say REPORT something negative that we are WRITING something negative about Leighton. (Boomer and I love Leighton as our many posts in this topic can attest. Even if we don't always agree with her style, we have praised her as a person many a time.)
