Leighton Meester, Adam Brody Are Engaged! Gossip Girl, OC Alum Dated for Less Than a Year

It's the ultimate Gossip Girl-O.C. crossover event! After less than a year of dating, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are engaged to be married, a source confirms to Us Weekly. Wonderwall was first to break the news of the couple's unexpected wedding news.

Just last February, Us exclusively broke news that the Gossip Girl actress, 27, was dating the O.C. actor, 33. The pair (whose breakout TV shows were both created by Josh Schwartz) worked together on the 2011 film The Oranges and began "hanging out" in early 2013. It will be the first marriage for both. Before Brody, Meester dated actor Aaron Himelstein before calling things off during the 2012 holiday season. Brody, meanwhile, squired director and screenwriter Lorene Scafaria back in 2010.

The resolutely private couple (who were "always close and friendly" a pal told Us) have rarely commented on their relationship, but have made a small handful of affectionate, low-key appearances together in and around Hollywood over the past year. They'll also be working together again in the upcoming comedy Life Partners.

"I love love. It's the most intriguing universally understood emotion, and it comes in so many forms: family love, love of friends," Meester told Lucky magazine back in 2012. "I fall in love with everybody all the time."

I think she could have found a better thing to say about Biotherm than 'it's evolving and modern', but it's one of my favourite skincare brands so I'm curious to see the pictures. Her face really fits the Biotherm aesthetic.

And if Leighton Meester's shy, beaming smile was anything to go by, it may well be that the reports were on the money.

Though the 27-year-old did not appear to be sporting an engagement ring during an appearance in Shanghai, China on Thursday, she appeared as smug as smug can be just two days after whispers about her new relationship status flooding the media.

Hmm, I quite like it.

I saw some fan pictures of her arriving at the airport with no makeup and she was so gorgeous. I like the makeup at the event too, but there's no flattering angle of it officially. I could post the fan pictures, but I don't know the original sources.

I love the outfit but, then again, I think she's pulled off every look she's tried so far--even the bizarre singing-era ones.

Though I'm desperate to see more of her since she's probably my favorite actress/"mocktress" right now, the reason I admire her so much (other than her talent) is because she seems so private. She's been able to keep her relationship almost completely out of view from the paparazzi and not wearing the engagement ring is (IMHO) a big sign that she's actively avoiding it.

Her style though is really puzzling me lately. I was so used to seeing her 'downtown chic' look in candids, but ever since she moved to LA she dresses so homely... Not that there's anything wrong with that. She's mentioned before that she tends to dress in such a way, but it wasn't until recently that there's photographic proof. It's just such a 180 to me.

WOW, those Biotherm pictures are stunning. Her skin is just unbelievable! I even like her look at the Shanghai event-on anyone else I'd find it ugly, but she is just so naturally pretty and laid back that somehow it works for me. I wish we'd get a glimpse of her engagement ring, I'm so excited for her and Adam
