The makeup is nice on the Chung show but I don't really like her outfit.

As for the performance itself... everyone else pretty much summed it up here: embarrassing. She's not getting rave reviews outside of tFS either -- everyone pretty much thinks she has no stage presence and can't sing. I wonder if she's ever worked with a vocal coach. Her BFF Emmy Rossum can sing pretty well, maybe she can offer some tips.

Yes, but unfortunately not all of us can see Leighton perform live so a major factor to how well an entertainer sells is what we see through the media.

If the majority of the population sees poor singing and a lack of stage presence, how exactly does this transfer to a great debut?

Again with this "majority" and "popular" opinion base on absolutely nothing. Haters are just more vocal. If by "outside tFS" you're referring to the place I think you're referring to, just a few months ago they hated Lady Gaga and last year, came to the "majority" consensus that she would be gone by the end of 2008, but are absolutely crazy about her now, so.

^I think Lady Gaga is one of the very few exceptions. She's just so outrageous and ostentatious that it's difficult to ignore her and her music. Not to mention that the music had really infectious beats as well as mildly clever lyrics. She was made popular because she was laughable. She embraced it. Her performances and music videos embody it.

I can't really make assumptions on Leighton's musical career on just one song. There were a few that I enjoyed (Betty Davis Eyes and Birthday). But I really don't think a music career will take off with a lack of stage presence, and from what I've seen, she is lacking.

I have to agree with everyone who thinks it's a huge mistake to launch this singing career. From what I have seen (mostly these last two performances) her stage act is mediocre at best and she doesn't have that great of a voice. Sure, in the studio with all the technology she sounds decent to good but on stage it's a whole different story. Not to mention she is lacking in rhythm and stage presence is pretty much nonexistent... her performance at the American Eagle event borders something out of HEIDI MONTAG attempts at being a popstar.

If she had a good team behind her... they would advise her to try out for some decent movie roles or even guest starring in some great shows ie. 30 rock, the office, etc... in order to show her acting talent. Gossip Girls is losing steam really fast and she doesn't want to became another Mischa Barton.

Sorry, but the difference is - all these artists CAN SING. They put on a good - GREAT! show, and really are amazing performers.

So far what I'm seeing is that Leighton has very questionable ability to sing, and has a serious lack of stage presence and performance abilities. Her songs also sound pretty mediocre.

I wouldn't even compare Leighton as a singer to any of the above. To be honest, a more appropriate analogy is Leighton and Lindsay Lohan (in terms of singing), or Heidi Montag (in terms of pointless singing).

She should just stick to acting and looking pretty at events. Professionally and in terms of her style - both goes down the drain with this lame attempt at being a pop star.

Yes- the Mischa Barton Syndrome is really scary for girls like Leighton, Blake and even Taylor...Not too many of them make the transition to another successful series or a movie career...very few, actually...

The coat is amazing! Whatever they do, they do usually find great coats for Blair and jackets for Serena. But ugh to the tights. And what is up with the scarf? Looks ill-fitting.
