Louis Vuitton S/S 2022 Paris

I loved every second of it! The way it is so deep into the french culture and fashion. The past clothing references mixed with the modern-day clothes, the casting, the OTT styling worked perfectly this time because it was about DECADENCE, it was excess like Marie-Antoinette was excessive at her time. Love how he always twists everything with a dark futuristic approach and with a touch of the 80s.

That's exactly what I needed after such a timid, uneventful Paris fashion week. Definitely my favorite show this season .
This collection is really a stylist’s dream. So many pieces to play with…Those capes! So fabulous!

It’s a pity what we will see on magazines is essentially runway looks because there’s a lot of potential.

Their full look policy is ridiculous. Nobody buys full looks!

The last part reminds me a lot of his menswear Balenciaga SS2008 collection. Cargo shorts and gladiator boots!

It will be interesting to see how the first part of the collection will inspired their commercial eveningwear…

Eventually, Nicolas will get tired of the pile of stuff styling. That’s why I’m excited to always see what’s next…

The only time you ever see people wearing LV in Paris...is when the show is happening and the guests are fully dressed by the maison.
I didn't mind early LV by Ghesquière. For me his highlight remains his Monaco cruise collection, it was quite simple but yet desirable.
He never knows how to stop : extravagant shapes meet extravagants colors meet extravagant fabrics meet extravagant finishes...TOO MUCH INFORMATION !!!!

This is good! but as many of you have already said there are a few things not working in its favor.

I’m dreaming of the day I see his collection and think that the styling did more good than damage. unfortunately, It really is just too much, cause these clothes are already a lot on their own and so much gets lost in these unnecessary layers.

but I also think that a lot of you should comment on Nicolas’ collections after checking them out a few times. it’s definitely not easy to digest and almost impossible to do it after seeing it once. give it another chance, you just can’t notice and appreciate the items that are incredible on their own, you just see the total look. one must look beyond that. it’s just a pity we’re forced to do this by MAS.

also, I don’t think the set helped either. as I mentioned these clothes + styling are A LOT, so they need a room to breathe and I found the set quite claustrophobic for this collection. not enough space.

Everything's too wide, unflattering, suffocating and the Mardi Gras glasses were just a poor choice...and still I don't regret watching the livestream! With the location and everything (although it would have been nice if the models didn't walk so damn fast), it felt very powerful and momentous, in a season of fluff I was just glad someone was willing to try new things.

I did like the dresses with the panniers (that moved like they had a move of their own), the cargo skirts and some jackets. In general his collections do have potential to grow on you and that's probably why I never want to be too hard on him...

Do you think the brand ambassadors cry after every show seeing the mess they'll have to wear for the following months? I guess they could just wipe their tears with all those $100 bills they're getting.

There are some decent pieces here but the styling ruins it. His Louis Vuitton is always about mixing a million contrasting ideas and it rarely works (I personally only liked his first collection, which was very different from the road he ended up taking). It looks like he tried to do a modern take on panniers but it just looks like someone stuck a small table under the skirt. There was a style I think in the renaissance with these large round skirts with s flat top (the skirt basically looked like a table), and that's what some of the opening looks remind me of. The later looks with the black and white ruffled collars give off a 2000s Chanel vibe but not in a good way.
