Yes it is called marshmellow. I have the marshmellow bedford bag and would love to sell it, but my husband bought it for me for mother's day this year - oh well :o

I need to find myself a husband like that!!

It would probably be sold out by fall so buy it as soon as you can..

i don't know if most of you would remember this bag or collection, but i've been absolultely head-over-feet in love with the oversized vernis reade tote bags from this collection ever since they were first presented on the runway. i actually had the opportunity to get the exact bag from the runway (THE actual one shown on the runway) in red, but i didn't. i keep kicking myself every day of my life for not seizing that opportunity when i had the chance.

do any of you know the actual style name of this bag? i used to, but i forgot... i don't think it's the reade tote gm because that one is really tall...it definitely isn't the one from the runway... any help would be appreciated. confess your mutual love for this bag here!!

That is very, very similar to the Reade GM in vernis (I think it may be the Reade GM, but I didnt think that could go on the shoulder). They still produce it, but it is reasonably rare I believe. If they dont have it at your local LV, they are normally pretty good at locating stuff for you.

Actually that is the Reame MM that is very tall/vertical, the GM is shaped like this one, I am just not sure about the strap length.

The Reade GM that was mass produced by Vuitton was a modified version of the one that was created for the runway. I guess they figured it was just too ridiculously big, so they made it slightly smaller and tinkered with the strap length as well. So unless you find the original runway sample, I'm afraid you can't get the Reade in that size.

If I passed someone quickly on the street, I would probably think that was a shopping bag.

I was thinking the exact same thing as soon as I looked at the first picture. The way it is worn in the second picture is nicer if you dont want people to think it be just a very nice shopping bag...but yeah they're ok.

damnit, now i'm kicking myself even more for not getting that red runway sample when i had the chance... ... ... i think i DO in fact remember the person who had it saying that they never mass-produced this bag and that it was only for the runway, as well.... ugh... well, do you think i could possibly custom-order one like this from lv?

Brian, I would seriously consider checking out the Reade GM that was produced if I were you, it is really quite close to this one. And LV might custom order this for you, but it would cost a fortune.

I found a picture, but its from some MSN LV Fan group and I dont know if I can post it, so I'll PM it to you.

LV Vernis.. colours, longevity?

If the Vernis is looked after (eg not touching hard surfaces, held in hand only), how does it age over time? does it flake, chip, etc?

Also, anyone know what the current colours are? I can only find black, blue, red, white, and bronze brown on eluxury.. is that it?

Thanks!^_^

i have a vernis bedford (vernis' version of papillon) from a cpl years ago.
vernis really doesnt change at all. no flaking, chipping, discoloration etc.

i think some stores still carry the peppermint color.

oh one thing to keep in mind... when buying vernis dont get it in pastel colors. the vachetta trim darkens over time so think about how the color will look against dark brown, not pale ivory.

periwinkle, bronze, red and navy blue looks good with darkened vachetta but marshmellow pink, pastel pink, and pastel blue looks horrible (imo) with darkened vachetta.

also, with the lighter colors, you'll have to worry about color transfer a lot more than if you chose a darker, more rich color....
my sister has a key cles in the peppermint color that has some color transfer on it from just sitting in the pocket of one of her bags for a few hours while my fuschia wallet sits in my bag 24 hrs a day (unless i take it out for a few minutes) and there's no sign of color transfer...
also the lighter colors tend to fade, and the leather does sometimes get spotting...(which is little black specks randomly on the leather...not sure what it's due to exactly, but it's nothing you can really prevent...and it's not noticible unless you're looking REALLY closely...)

there's no black vernis. oh how i wish there was.......
the current colors are: indigo (dark blue), noisette (a bronze/beige mix), pearle (white), beige, and red.
there COULD be some peppermint still floating around in stores, and maybe marshmallow (pale pink), but those two colors have been discontinued and aren't being made anymore..

but i think it's a decent line, in terms of longevity...though i wish they had a bigger variety of styles.......
i really want a vernis speedy, lol.

Here is my Houston vernis I've got it in 2001 still look very good.
