It's not just what you put on your skin but also what you put into your body.

Make sure you maintain a well balanced diet, drink adequate amounts of water, exercise regularly, get adequate amounts of sleep and avoid drinking too much alcohol and smoking, etc

In terms of your skincare routine, you should be cleansing and removing makeup, toning (if required), moisturizing, applying sunscreen, exfoliating, using a mask, etc etc.

There are no miracle products unfortunately, you simply have to find the ones which work best for you and use them.

Finally, if you're after a makeup product to help you achieve a glow, try YSL Teint Parfait or Guerlain Meteorites

LOL.. i crap on a bit too much don't I

i totally agree w/pradaP
drinking lots of water has made my skin super clear
& has made is softer.
i use less concealer now

1. Excercise. Try yoga or pilates.
2. Lots of water.
3. Healthy balanced diet. Idealy organic and vegi
4. Good skin care routine. In find that keeping it simple yeilds the best results: tea tree oil cleaner mixed with St Ives Apricot Scrub every other day (just the clenser alone on days where you don't use the mix) and an astringent whenever you get greasy/feel too lazy to do the cleanser. >_o get ALL of the cleanser off when you rinse and use a fresh towel every time. used ones are a haven for more bacteria :flower:

I have to agree w/PradaP. Drinking lots of water has helped my skin tremendously. I've found that masking 2x/week & do a home microdermabrasion (Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion in a Jar or Philosophy's Resurface are great) 1x/week has helped my skin quite a bit as well. Products will work differently on everyone, so check w/your doctor or facialist for recommendations.

As for achieving a glow w/makeup, try Smashbox's Soft Lights in Shimmer (a soft, pale pink), Stila's All Over Shimmer Powder in #9 (soft pinkish-lavender), or Giorgio Armani's Fluid Sheer #2 or #7 (both contain a bit of shimmer & are in the soft pink family).

I'd have to agree with the above advice concerning good skin care. A healthy glow cannot be faked. Try Borghese mud mask once a week and Lancome Exfoliance 2-3 times a week. I also don't overdose on chocolates and don't drink alcohol.

I have great times when my derm sister came to visit me 3 years ago. When we first met she looked surprise to my skin. I mean.., my face was sooo dull.... And she suggested to buy a lotion ( if you have oil skin) that contains alpha hydroxy acid 10 percent. Ask the pharmacist.

And what happened the week after? Dull skin was disappear. So, I split my skin ritual afterwards. I use AHA 10 until now, the skin prep steps are : AHA 10,should apply in clean skin / after your reguler face wash. Then your daily cream ( my picks are: Avene hydra cream for blemish skin, hydraskin light from Darphin for normal skin or any face cream because you 're normal, fluid regulateur from Darphin for oily skin, and Rose cream from dr. Hauschka)

If you put foundation, I agree to put Vitalumiere de Chanel. It's good recommendation, and won't block pores for the blemish skin.

Never hasitate to ask your derm for your skin problems.

exercise (this REALLY helps with the glow thing), healthy diet and lots and lots of water will make you

in addition, I alternate between burt's bees tomato complexion bar and bayrum exfoliant (very mild) bar...when I first started using them, the change in my skin was absolutely amazing, and 2 years on I still use them every day and see the difference every time I wash my face. my skin really glows. I know I sound like a bad commercial, but I just decided that I didn't want to use unnatural chemical products on my face. I really do think it makes a difference. just my two cents. :innocent:

Water is the best way to ensure that your skin looks its best. But olive oil and cantaloupe are two foods that also help you maintain a dewy, healthy look. Just a few one-tablespoon servings of olive oil per week keeps skin healthy, since the oil is packed with antioxidants that help pores stay clear. Use it to stir-fry vegetables, flavor pasta dishes and dress salads. Eating half a cup of cantaloupe cubes also helps vanquish dry skin, thanks to the fruit's high carotene content, which keeps skin cells healthy. "If you eat a cantaloupe for dessert at night, you'll look better for it in the morning," says Dr. Perricone.

Make sure you have fat in your diet. Skin always looks the best when it is fed.

I think the best way to have glowing skin is to moisturize, moisturize and moisturize. In that way, you'll never get that grey look! :flower: :flower:

Excercise is important- but you must not forget to wash your face right when youre done- and do not use makeup when you work out- or you will just blemish up!

I have dull skin as well and quit cant find what to do with it.But the gals are right- in that pic you posted its not just Mandy staying away from the Godiva- its also make up.
Look for stuff that says- dewy finish, or luminiscent (spelling?)

Use a bodyscrub to remove all dead skincells and moisturize because try skin will never ever glow

Although the above advice from everybody is excellent, it really depends on your body chemistry the type of skin you have.

The water, the healthy diet, exercise, etc. are wonderful suggestions... but I know when I do those things, or when I don't, my skin does not change. My face looks the same, there is no extra radiance. I'm sure the above works for most, or at least some, but I know I have to depend on product to yield the results I really wish for.

i used l'oreal's renoviste kit with amazing results, but i wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin. you use it in three steps - an alpha-hydronxy acid, a neutalizer, and a moisturizer. there are eight treatments to do twice a week, although i did them slightly more often, every other day or so, with no ill effects.

i second recommendations for drinking water, and adding good fats such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, and fish oil (or better yet, good fish) to your diet.

i'm going to try some of these makeup tips - thanks.

I've heard " Lancome Exfoliance Clarte Clarifying Exfoliating Gel " does wonders. Anyone tried it ?

I have been taking my omega-3 fatty acid fish oil pills on a daily basis. It has done wonders for my skin.
I recommend this to anyone who has dry skin. It is great!
