Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

I always heard that drinking water was supposed to be really good for your skin, but I actually just read an article that said water doesn't affect your skin. The statistics said that the people who drank water were more likely to have good diets and exercise - which do affect your skin. Not sure if it's true... just what i read.

^ Ya I think that water thing is slightly hyped... its really good for you internally, but as far as skin goes it does not make a huge diff...

I swear by Weleda's Skin Food for my face...its heavy, but it miraculously keeps my skin clear! I also exfoliate with that Neutrogena Microdermabrasion kit, and tone with Burt's Tomato toner. I stay out of the sun and drink lots of water and get my zzzzzzs! btw, water makes a definite difference for me...

I find when I drink a lot of water my skin gets very dry and I break out. 'Sure' I hear you say 'of course you will break out, your bosy is flushing out all the toxins!'. Problem is that it flushes them out every day and its very difficult to avoid damaging foods all the time. So I only drink about 5 or 6 glasses a day now, which is under the 2pt average. I'm trying the vitamin C facial spritzer at the moment, combined with microderm abrasion..not much difference yet although I must admit the facial sprizter really does make my face feel more fresh and it gets a bit of a glow (from body shop)

water, water, water!

if you can't bring yourself to chug water because of it's lack of taste, try flavouring it with lemon juice from the supermarket. it helps cleanse skin from the inside too.

water has made a difference on my skin, not a massive difference but my skin looks a tad clearer than it used 2

lactic acid peels have changed my life...

dermalogica microexfoliant brightens me up and lightens any discoloration... i'm more comfortable not wearing foundation everywhere now...

No kidding... shoot.

^ ofcourse this is true... the water you drink is absorbed mostly inside and does not have a significant effect on your skin...

^ I don't doubt it. But over the past few years there has been speculation that if you're well hydrated, your skin will thank you.

Fresh-Looking Skin

this may sound pretty silly i guess but somehow my skin looks "loose" not nice and well "fresh" you know and i dislike that. i am drinking much water and trying to eat healthy so what else could i do for getting a "fresher" look?

Well I personally think Nutrition is vital - loads of "good oils" from stuff like fish, avocados and nuts. I also take a teaspoon of something called Udos oils on a daily basis. It is a mixture of flax seed oil and other ones containing omega 3,6 and 9. Loads of fruit and Veg esp. superfoods like blueberries. Avoid extreme dieting like the plague - this kills the skin on your face when you get past 30, you need a little fat for padding out those lines!

Lots of moisturiser - doesnt have to be expensive.

Lots of water definitely and I am SO careful with sun exposure. Partly because I have that very pale skin so I wear factor 30 even on cloudy days on my face. I have very few wrinkles and I am 35 - I'm not just saying that out of vanity it is true!

Sleep is good if you can though I know this depends on your work patterns and definitely no **** ! Avoid doing "a moss" as this gives you terrible wrinkles - in a few years time you will really see it on her face. Do like the French - only drink decent wine and not nasty plonk.

Not forgetting some exercise - even a good walk a few times a week.

In summary good food, moisturise, water, sun protection, good sleep, avoid the **** and illicits, drink good wine, Exercise a bit. Throw in some sex and you are sorted!!!

As you can tell I have put some thought into this - I am slightly obsessed with keeping my skin looking good!

I like to use a washing cloth (not too soft) for scrubbing my face gently almost every day (as opposed to just using my hands like before). Like gentle exfoliating.

Preferably under the shower

Just don't be too harsh...

^ i do that under the shower with my finger tips.... works wonder..... + scrub once a week + clay mask..... :flower:

I recommend ' Clarin's one step gentle exfoliating cleanser '.
I've got quiet the sensitive skin and this scrub is very mild and gives my skin that glow.

For the scrub, I recommend Origin's "Never a Dull Moment"..it's worked wonders for me...
Plus I like to add on a sheet mask like SKII's treatment mask...it peps my skin up tons.

My skin isn`t very healthy looking too, but sometimes moisturizes helps. What doyou guys think about Biotherm, I want to try it....smth light and fresh...

any suggestions for mixed to oily skin girl....?:flower:

katy hit everything point-on.

But I just want to stress the exercise bit a little more... getting your blood flowing gives you a glow. Sometimes I work out before a night out on the town, because it livens up my skin.
