Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

Well I personally think Nutrition is vital - loads of "good oils" from stuff like fish, avocados and nuts. I also take a teaspoon of something called Udos oils on a daily basis. It is a mixture of flax seed oil and other ones containing omega 3,6 and 9. Loads of fruit and Veg esp. superfoods like blueberries. Avoid extreme dieting like the plague - this kills the skin on your face when you get past 30, you need a little fat for padding out those lines!

Lots of moisturiser - doesnt have to be expensive.

Lots of water definitely and I am SO careful with sun exposure. Partly because I have that very pale skin so I wear factor 30 even on cloudy days on my face. I have very few wrinkles and I am 35 - I'm not just saying that out of vanity it is true!

Sleep is good if you can though I know this depends on your work patterns and definitely no **** ! Avoid doing "a moss" as this gives you terrible wrinkles - in a few years time you will really see it on her face. Do like the French - only drink decent wine and not nasty plonk.

Not forgetting some exercise - even a good walk a few times a week.

In summary good food, moisturise, water, sun protection, good sleep, avoid the **** and illicits, drink good wine, Exercise a bit. Throw in some sex and you are sorted!!!

As you can tell I have put some thought into this - I am slightly obsessed with keeping my skin looking good!

Could 'nt have said it any better myself:flower:

For the scrub, I recommend Origin's "Never a Dull Moment"..it's worked wonders for me...
Plus I like to add on a sheet mask like SKII's treatment mask...it peps my skin up tons.
i use origins never a dull moment too! its inexpensive and has lasted 6 months so far! and the jar is near full still!
it has made my skin sooo much softer, i use less moisturizer now b/c my skin absorbs better and i have not had an outbreak of zits since i used it. :flower:

^ I GOTTA buy that lol.

how much does it cost? and is it available in europe too?

My skin isn`t very healthy looking too, but sometimes moisturizes helps. What doyou guys think about Biotherm, I want to try it....smth light and fresh...

any suggestions for mixed to oily skin girl....?:flower:

i used to use biotherm... and i loved it...

i actually started with shiseido's pureness line which changed my skin from oily to combination and then needed something less drying and i fell in love with biotherm.

source therapie is worth it to use everyday... it defintely makes your complexion bright and smooth....i bought it on and off and when it was off, so was my skin... i love their ultra cool water gel, its a great moisturizer especially if you want a light but effective moisturizer that doesn't give you the greasies and keeps your skin feeling great. i like their aquasource foaming cleanser as well... all of these are extremely light and totally made my skin wonderful....

i tried their gel cleanser, a bit drying and their foaming cleanser also a bit drying... i think the best thing to have radiant skin is to use light products so you don't dry out your skin and don't rid it of its radiance... i never used their toners as i don't like toners, they just dry out your skin...

i currently use sonya dakar products but still use the ultra cool water gel in the summer...

I get those little white lumps on my forhead, they look awful!! My skin is perfectly clear otherwise, I exfoliate and tone etc etc but nothing works! Any ideas?

 What's "a moss"? Must be a britishism. i promise i won't do it just as soon as i find out what it is (though more likely i've done it for years..)

You guys, i found this really amazing & cheap moisturizer, it's from clean & clear so it works for oily skin as well. You should try it, i promise, it's good.

I agree, I use this as well! it's amazing and all their products are natural and they don't test on animals, also it smells delicious like mangoes and apricots.

Leonie, Origins can be found easily in US as it's an American brand, and I think there are online stores that carry this brand.
I am not too sure where it retails in Europe though...

If I recall correctly, I got it in US for USD$21...it's a pretty reasonable price and a little bit goes a long way cos once per week is definitely good enough! ;)

hye park lover.. who on earth is that guy in your avatar???

alright, here are my tips:

1) What you put inside your body definately effects what comes out of your body (i'm referring to skin here ). I eat very very healthy and have come to find that the healthier i get, the more glowing my skin becomes. cutting out certain destroyers like wheat, sugar and arguably dairy really help! foods which can make your skin *GLOW* are ones w/ high omega like fish (particularly salmon) and flax seed oil; foods w/ high vitamin C like orange fruits and vegetables; green leafy vegetables and as many veggies as possible; millet (a type of grain which is delicious and can be cooked just like rice); fruits and veggies w/ high antioxidant content;fiber definately helps, which can be found in gluten-free whole grains like brown rice, millet, teff, amaranth etc.; green tea; water; avacados (if you're tolerant of them.. my body doesn't like them); olives and olive oil; water... the list goes on

2) STAY AWAY FROM WEED:sick: haha ok i know this may seem humorous, but IM SERIOUS! smoking weed seriously distresses your body and weakens your immune system. smoking once in a while in the beginning may not produce any noticeable signs, depending on how tolerant your body is, but trust me, most all of the potheads i know either have acne, or break out everytime they smoke. Also, weed is coated w/ so many chemicals these days, you could literally be putting windex into your body- without even knowing it.

3) try to incorporate natural skin care products!
there's a saying that goes something like "never put anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your body".. just think about it. i myself use neutrogena face wash, because i find that natural face washes aren't strong enough to compete w/ all the blush i put on:blush: i do use dr. hauschka face lotion and aubrey organics toner though! they really help to soothe all the distress of the damaging chemicals from my make up and face wash! just experiment w/ them.. after that initial breakout (if you get one), you'll most likely find that the natural skin care products will help to repair and soothe your skin, whether its nearly instantaneous or gradual.

4) exercise
for some reason (well actually, its quite scientifical but i cant get into that rightnow), exercise really helps the skin! sweating a bit does too.. SAUNAS are good;)

5) dont stress or obsess!!!!
never ever stress or obsess over your skin, even if you can't help it- JUST DONT! stress is a fairly silent killer- especially for your skin. This summer i got very bored and became a product junky in search of perfecting my skin. my obsession w/ my skin and overload of products led to distressed skin... causing me to obsess even more. finally, realizing that my stress was only aggravating the situation- i just gave it a rest and tried my best to forget about my skin, and went back to just a plain old wash twice a day, w/ a natural face lotion. my skin gradually became clear again, after i quit OBSESSING AND STRESSING!!!

6) (some) FOODS WHICH AGGRAVATE THE SKIN:
nuts (esp. almonds and peanuts), wheat and gluten, dairy (depends on your body type), sugar and other artificial sweeteners aside from natural ones like stevia, caffeine (mainly coffee), oils (olive oil and flax oils are harmless, unless you have eczema), and ofcourse... various food allergies.

7) vit supplements: certain vit. supplements such as green tea supps, alpha lipoic acid, vit c&E combo, multivitamins, milk thistle, zinc, multi enzymes and activated charcoal and all help you to achieve clear, glowing skin! make sure to look really good into what brand you're buying and what each supp does, before taking them!!!!!

hope some of this helps! i have LOADS of info on remedies, products .. the works on skin... private message me if you need any advice;)

I think she means stay away from the cocaine if you want fresh lookings skin, and she is right. It ages the skin like almost nothing else.

The very best thing you can do for your skin ladies and gentlemen apart from a healthy diet is to fall in love.

Something with BHAs in it (they work in the non-top layers of the skin over several days/weeks). Or something w/retinoids in it. Again, over time. Kind of purifies from below.

Tons of stuff have BHAs. Green Cream (see the LindaSy.com site) is a great retinoid product. Go sparingly at first w/that so as not to dry out your skin.

You're welcome. :)

Some people use what's called an 'aspirin mask' or 'aspirin toner' (aspirin breaks down partly into salicylic acid, which is a BHA, if I recall correctly) to refine and get rid of white bumps called milia. As well as to generally refine the skin.

Here's a link to a discussion about the issue and lower down I believe there's a link to how to make aspirin toner.

And here's an article that talks about eliminating blackheads that mentions BHAs
