Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

I  REN! I bought a mask from them the other day, but no it does not exfoliate. For my exfoliator at the moment I am just using the Dr H. Cleansing Cream twice a day, which you roll and press into your skin, so it is very gentle. I was using some other scrubs which were not all natural and they were aggrivating my sensitive skin, so I stopped. I have heard the REN jojoba scrub is nice, but I have not used it so I can't be sure... I sometimes put papaya on my face, the enzymes in it exfoliate my skin. This is a very nice, gentle remedy. Which is your favorite REN mask? I bought the one in the green bottle.

OOO yeah i'm using the jojoba facial scrub too!! it is awesomE! it smells really great, and leaves ur skin feeling SUPER SOFT. :D too bad the instructions say u're only supp to use it 2-3 times a week!
i'm using the brightening mask (its the red one) and the clay mask(blue). which one is the green one?

the egg white thing sounds awesome, how exactly do u prepare it? :)

I use baking soda mixed with a few drops of water into a nice creamy paste..the perfect exfoliator, especially for sensitive skin. I have red marks left from pimples, and I've read that this can help reduce them, along with the other things I do. I use the Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner mixed with water. I'm not sure why or if it's necessarily better than a store bought toner, just a lot cheaper..if you can manage the smell! Start out with a small ratio though, or else it'll burn like h*ll! more water than vinegar at first, than gradually increase the amt. of vinegar. I also do an egg white mixed w/ lemon or lime juice mask....I've honestly watched whiteheads shrink and disappear right before my eyes (well..almost disappear!) works sooo so great.

Check this out, it's what I use, and it's AWESOME! (it's for acne, but believe me, any skin problems can pretty much benefit from this, makes my face all nice and glowy!): http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=35135

^^oops i just went to the link u provided so i know now :) btw how many times a week do u use it? and what do u do with the remaining egg? do u use the leftovers for the next day, feels kinda smelly to me haha ;)

^ Hehe smelly does sound like a good way to descrbe it hehe:)

I'm using the "Energising Mask" in the green bottle. It feels very nourishing! Leaves my skin very soft and smooth! Although not as effective as the Dr Hauschka "Firming Mask", this stuff is amazing! Worth every penny. I really want to try the REN clay mask though... That is my next purchase. How do you find it? ?

LucindaMay, ooh! i'll be sure to try Dr H's mask when i'm done with my REN masks. I found it when i was on vacation in Sydney! They sell tonnes of REN stuff at this store called Mecca Cosmetics. :)

^^ I'm living in Sydney at the moment! I got my REN from Mecca also.
I also live in the US, and have seen it at a shop in NY. I think it is an American brand....?

I used to have pimples all over my face, and now, for the first time in my life, my skin is almost perfectly clear! Basically here is what I did:

I started drinking at least 10 cups of water a day
I stopped using cleansers and products with any kind of acid or anything
I use a simple scrub every day

Here is my routine:

In the morning I rinse my face with water and then use an all natural scrub that doesn't have any chemicals or anything. This gets any rough spots or dead skin off my face and is crucial for getting rid of zits. I have very oily skin but instead of using washes that will dry the heck out of my skin, i simply rinse it with water. Its the most natural thing for your face. Whenever my face feels oily i rinse it. Since i started doing this my face doesnt' get so oily so quick anymore. I probably wash my face with water about 4-5 times a day. Now my skin is soft and moisturized and i dont' even have to use lotion to keep it that way.

Everyday I use a sea sponge, I think that is what they are called. Just a little bit of your normal cleanser and gently scrub your face with that every morning. It gets rid of the grub, your skin feels smooth and it gets the circulation going, thus glowing skin. You can buy thoses sponges in pharmacies, and when they are dry they get rid of all the bacteria themselves, so you don't have to worry about it getting dirty. :flower:

Lucinda, i'm not sure! i always thought it was a UK brand for some reason... :P
Yeah the Mecca cosmetics at DJ's in the city (market st i think)- the selection is great :)

Pat McGrath’s secret weapon for runway-ready skin, as seen at the Calvin Klein spring/summer ’06 collection, is the iconic SK-II face mask, $132 for six. McGrath says the mask lifts the blood to the skin, leaving the models with “an all-over glow”. Coming soon: the SK-II Signs Eye Mask, $120 for 14, sure to be on every bleary-eyed model’s wish list.

^ I certainly can't afford that stuff. The best bet for me, on my budget, looks like water and lots of fruits and vegetables. ^_^

Glowy skin

I use a product once a week called lac hydrin. It is for dry skin and contains lactic acid to gently exfoliate. I also take lots of vitamins ,drink lots of water and sleep with a humidifier on in the bedroom. I dont eat as well as I should but my skin does seem to glow and I get compliments every now and then. My late aunt had gorgeous skin and just died at the age of 84...............hardly a line on her face. She didnt have an easy life but was a very positive person.........I think that helps with the outside appearance and glow as well.

^where do you buy a humidifer from? ive been hearing great things about using them, but havent seen them around. can anyone from australia help me out?

I used to sleep with a humidifier when I was young for a respitory condition, so I"m curious to hear what people have found the benefits are for the skin. Do you put any type of essential oils in the humidifier when you use it?

I just use plain cold water in my humidifier. That keeps the air in my bedroom fresh and moist all night. I apply a thin layer of moisturizer after my shower and go to sleep with the humidifier running and wake up to baby fresh skin as the moisture is held in my skin all night long and it doesnt dry out. My hair also looks better not so fly away and dry. I know the humidifier helps because I was without it for several weeks and could reallly feel the differance. I also really notice the dryness of the air when I go to other peoples homes. It makes a real difference!
