Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

My skin is so glowy and clear at the moment! :) Everything is working so well YAY!

Lara: yeah it is really greasy but i like it because my skin sometimes gets a little dry.. and i quite like the very subtle sheen it gives me, you gotta wait at least ten-fifteen minutes for it to settle in real good though!

i just read this article int he harper's bazaar march issue (australia) and there's this really great article about masks and glowy skin and all that.
apparently it's ALOT better to gently exfoliate skin everyday instead of doing it once/twice a week which is what pple normally do. helps break down the 'tougher' skin apparently. just thought i'd share! :-)

I`ve bought moisturizing day cream (for normal, dry skin), moisturizing mask and daily revitalizing eye cream. Moisturiser I find superb for my skin. It`s not that greasy, but maybe it`s because I use a little bit drying cream for night, so in the morning Dr. Hauschka cream moisturises greatly. Moisturizing mask didn`t do anything for me so far, but I loved Dr. Hauschka`s eye cream. I`m planning on buing all eye care line :flower:

I read that too but I find that exfoliating every day really irritates my skin and dries it out :( when I did it everyday I had a huge increase in spots!! I wouldn't recommend it if you have sensitive skin or maybe even if you are prone to breakouts!

I agree with this. Since I started using the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, which very lightly exfoliates, my skin is feels extremely smooth and is very clear.

I wouldn't use a harsh scrub every day... no way. In fact I think that masks, which exfoliate are much kinder towards the skin. Scrubs tend to aggrivate skin conditions like acne.

^^ yikess thanks for all ur feedback!
i DO have quite sensitive skin..
which masks are good for exfoliating? i'm currently using the REN masks which i find to be pretty good but i dont think it exfoliateS!

i used to have a lot of break outs and when i started taking vitamin B complex (with C) and apple cider vinegar pills and my skin has improved a lot. if you're a vegetarian, as i am, you should especially look at your diet - you may be lacking vitamins that contribute to good skin (i.e. vit. b, vit d, vit a, protein)

I've seen a lot about apple cider vinegar on this thread..pills and toner..can someone tell me more about why apple cider vinegar? Which is better taking a supplement or using the toner?

I  REN! I bought a mask from them the other day, but no it does not exfoliate. For my exfoliator at the moment I am just using the Dr H. Cleansing Cream twice a day, which you roll and press into your skin, so it is very gentle. I was using some other scrubs which were not all natural and they were aggrivating my sensitive skin, so I stopped. I have heard the REN jojoba scrub is nice, but I have not used it so I can't be sure... I sometimes put papaya on my face, the enzymes in it exfoliate my skin. This is a very nice, gentle remedy. Which is your favorite REN mask? I bought the one in the green bottle.

I use baking soda mixed with a few drops of water into a nice creamy paste..the perfect exfoliator, especially for sensitive skin. I have red marks left from pimples, and I've read that this can help reduce them, along with the other things I do. I use the Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner mixed with water. I'm not sure why or if it's necessarily better than a store bought toner, just a lot cheaper..if you can manage the smell! Start out with a small ratio though, or else it'll burn like h*ll! more water than vinegar at first, than gradually increase the amt. of vinegar. I also do an egg white mixed w/ lemon or lime juice mask....I've honestly watched whiteheads shrink and disappear right before my eyes (well..almost disappear!) works sooo so great.

Check this out, it's what I use, and it's AWESOME! (it's for acne, but believe me, any skin problems can pretty much benefit from this, makes my face all nice and glowy!): http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=35135

I've found that using a creamy moisturizing cleanser has seriousely made my skin look 100% better. It was good before, but I haven't got a pimple since I've used this. It's made my skin less red and irritated and more moisturized! I have dry skin, but I though using something really creamy would make pimples, but this actually cleared me up even more. I used good old Neutrogena Gentle Cleansing Cream (i THINK. come in a white pump tube)

And I totally agree about gentle exfoliation EVERYDAY. I do a good scrub 2-3 times a week (Origins Modern Friction gives a great glow and helps get rid of under the skin bumps) but I always always use a gritty washcloth to rinse off my cleanser. I've read somewhere that Lauren Hutton always uses the grittiest washcloths she can find to wash her face, too! This leaves your skin a little bit smoother and prevents buildup of oils.

I'm not just crazy about the aspirin mask, but I guess it's cheaper than a peel mask! I found it a bit intense, but so many people here suggest toning it down with cleanser. I'll have to try that.

For me, it's sleep...
and since I don't get enough of that, I don't have healthy skin :(

^^ I also recommend using a cream cleanser. My skin has become really balanced since using one. The first one I ever used was the "Decleor Cleansing Milk", recommended to me by a dermatologist. I have a combination skin.

you want nice glowy skin, try being vegan...and stick to a whole food organic diet. I promise you your skin will be blingin'. I went on a vegan diet for a few months last year and my skin was it's best, even my eczema cleared up. too bad I caved. I'm dealing with some mild acne and the eczemas back.

CARROT JUICE!! Alot of models drink as much carrot juice a day and that makes their skin growing with sunshine!

I have to say that BE mineral foundation with their face lifting duo makes my face glow! And of course water and eating healthy can def. make your skin healthy and glowy looking.

I've been using this Glycolic peel three times a week and it absolutely cleans up any zits and grime and gives you a glow.Plus Alba has a brilliant deep sea musk that does the same, and makes the skin SO SOFT my boyfriend loves that!!

One thing that keeps my skin looking even is to not use blush. Applying blush makes the red areas on my face appear more. And if I want to apply one I choose one that's more coral than pink or red :)

reiterating the omega-3/cod liver oil supplements advice, i swear it's made my skin have a nice 'glow' to it too. also re: dr. hauschka - try the rejuvenating mask! i don't know how it works but it does brighten my skin, i love it.

oh, and the coffee, i know it's bad but it doesn't stop me from drinking copious amounts of it. :innocent:
