Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

Shoexgal, I'm also a microdermoabrasion fan, but wanted to know few things. How often do you go, what kind of improvement you see after one, how rough is it for you (red face after it is done), how much you pay for one....etc.
I had 8 microdermoabrasions last year in a row, and there was a small improvement, but now I changed dermatologist and after only one I saw that my skin was glowing like never before.....couse it almost never glows.....

Nivea

I swear by Nivea "Refreshing Cleansing Gel" and the "Moisturizing Toner". the cleanser is super gentel to use, yet very effective and leaves my skin so smoooooooth and glowing. the toner is also very mild yet extreamly refreshing (i love to leave the toner in the fridge, when i use it on my face its amaaazing!!)

This is very similiar to MAC strobe cream but much cheaper
and better in my opinion ($10 here where I am).
It's very sheer, blends very easily and adds no colour.
I sometimes use it over my moisturizer or mix it with my foundation.
Gives me that perfect glowy and radiant look.
I dislike glitter very much because I want a fresh, natural look. There's
a subtle hint of shimmer in this and it's perfect for daytime as well as night.

i'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this question, so the moderators may move my post as they see fit, but is there ANY way to significantly reduce oil on one's face?

i have always had a problem with oily skin, even if areas around my chin become dry and flaky during colder climates. i have to powder constantly, and my forehead always, always appears shiny in photos! and yes, i have heard that powder is not good for people with oily skin, but even if i nixed the powder, it would still be oily. nothing seems to work - astringents, oil free makeup and lotions, etc. my face still somehow manages to produce that thick serum regardless, especially on the forehead, eyebrow areas, around the nose (T-zone)...

i guess i'm looking for any remedies/products as a quick solution. but nothing along the lines of "changing diets" and such..

any help in this matter would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I spent a few years thinking I had that exact same problem until I realised a while ago that shine is a pretty natural thing to get during the course of the day and doesn't necessarily mean you are oily at all. Also, I noticed that it isnt really oil that is produced by my skin during the day but just a bit of perspiration or moisture from the humidity in the air. So you shouldn't rush to assume you have oily skin cos maybe you dont and you are exacerbating the issue with anti oil products.
Some things I do to tone down my shine is to use a mattifying lotion as a moisturiser, using blotting powder from MAC, and blotting around my nose, on my chin and over my forehead with tissues, toilet paper, napkins, etc. The best for it are the brown recycled paper towel thingies in some bathrooms. They absorb all the shine from my face and cost nothing!

I like the oil cleansing method (OCM), which involves cleansing with 50/50 olive oil and castor oil then steaming the face and wiping out the dirt. I was skeptical but the castor oil makes my face feel thoroughly clean without being dry.

I've been a huge fan for a while now  I strongly recommend this if only you're able to get your hands on the stuff.

Do involve some healthy fats in your diet. Case and point: First Cold-pressed organic Olive Oil.

Sorry to hear that, I guess it's not for everyone although you can exchange the olive oil for another oil and change the ratio.

oh and also I stopped using sunscreen which is laden with chemicals. Instead I get 10 minutes of sun exposure a day in the morning or afternoon and also wear a hat and long sleeves most days. I have dark olive skin so I need more vitamin D intake. My mother has not used sunscreen EVER and at 46 years of age her skin is absolutely stunning (random people stop and tell her this). Not a wrinkle anywhere. .

But it's not just about the wrinkles... but about what the sun does to your skin beyond that... NO sun exposure is good for you or is safe. If you have darker skin, you're just not seeing the damage it's doing.

I use Vichy Eau Thermale as a toner - i keep it in the fridge. It makes my skin look so smooth. Alsom I wash my face every morning and evening with a damp cloth, much better than any exfoliator.

A damp muslin cloth is great for a little daily exfoliation. This is the cloth that Eve Lom sells with her cleanser, but it's such a cheap material that you could easily buy some more.

I also want to recommend Darphin products for luminous, glowy and healthy skin. Ashley Olsen frequently says that she uses their products, and I think she has great skin. From my experience, it's simple skincare that really works.

I recently started taking an Omega 3, 6, and 9 supplement. I've heard those oils are meant to be good for your skin, among other things, and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks!

where can I get this in Europe?

Getting the *GLOW*

This is a thread about getting that little extra *something* or that GLOW … while someone may be in good health, sporting a great outfit and matching make-up, there is the odd person who doesn’t need any of this to look fantastic simply because they have some kind of healthy inner *glow* about them…and they seem to make SIMPLE and effortless look so great (and im dying to ask them their secrets!)

Here please spill your secrets if you know any or have any input at all..

Personally I think its got a fair bit to do with health (like drinking lots of water and eating lots of fish) but also about being happy and SMILING…and a lot to do with being consistent..!?!? :flower:

As far as I know, Lumene sells only in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Russia and Latvia. In Russia you can get it from Sephora. :flower:

Dermalogica exfoliant is also amazing..but not for everyday use
