Makeup dont's that you do!

I usually do my little sister's makeup for her.
I don't use makeup, so I kind of just use each item for whatever. It's like playing with crayons/paint!
Like I bought eyebrow pencils for her the other day, which I use for her lips (as well as the eyes and eyebrows). I sometimes do that too with her lipgloss...^_^

Oh, and a don't: I want to get fake eyelashes for her. Harhar

I thought for sure i was the only one who uses lipbalm/chapstick for moisturizer!
i'm also guilty of the needle trick, but i just use a safety pin
oh. it's scary. My aunt used to do it too:ninja: . I don't throw out old mascara and after washing the part with a brush I use it for seperating eyelashes...
and I also never use lipstick, only lipbalm or gloss...sometimes I put rouge (if it has a creamy structure) on my lips and eyes...and if I don't have any cream but my skin is dry I use lipbalm

I sometimes put liquid over powder. ...Carefully, I mean. :p

I often neglect washing my powder brush...Until it feels gross to use.

I don't know if this is a don't, but I swipe a pearly white eye shadow on my face as highlighter. I like to maximize my paleness sometimes. And top it with berry red lip color. I hope I'm not over doing it...

I didn't know you weren't supposed to wear blue eyeshadow. I'm also guilty of the 80s blush.

hehe i do that sometimes to, although not all over.

when i'm too broke to get a new eyeshadow or liner that comes on strong and flashy the way i want and in the color i want, i use colors out of my extensive watercolor pencil set and brush a powder on in the closest color so it doesnt look so fake  i hardly ever use those pencils for anything else now..
i used to multiplayer my lipstick into blush or eye accent a lot too
actually i'll use anything on my face if it looks good!

and i know its too strong a look but i do occasionally like and use the red lip & dark eye combination :ninja::p
when i was younger i liked the ill-effect of bruise-purple or pink shadow on my undereyes.

hmm...and i wear foundation base alone. it's so light and natural and i'm pale it works alright.

everything else i'm guilty of with everybody, like not washing everything off d:

 OMG, how do you curl your eyelashes with a knife? i mean, wouldnt they be snipped off or something?!

1) it's rare for me to use eye makeup remover. i just cleanse and hope for the best^_^

2) it's also rare for me to use moisturizer if i'm going bare-faced.. which is 50% of the time.

3) i use vaseline under my eyes at night. works wonders, but i've heard it's a don't?

4) i use lipstick for blush, lip balm on eyelids, concealer before lip gloss, etc. etc.

5) i wear glittery liner/eyeshadow during the daytime..

6) sometimes i don't shampoo enough.. sometimes i shampoo too much.

7) i keep makeup for longer than "they" say to.. :innocent:

8) i don't moisturize any part of my body but my legs. not sure if this is a do or don't? or in between, possibly.

and there's most likely more, but i can't think of anything at the moment:ninja:

I LOVE powder, lots and lots of loose powder. I love the matte look. Matte foundation, concealer, powder, etc. And only a *tiny* bit of highlighter in a few select areas :P

Someone told me if you curl your eyelashes everyday that they will eventually fall out? can anyone say if this is true and suggest alternatives? i have thin, short, straight lashes.

Oh, and I use St Ives scrub even though it's totally demonized.

whats wrong with it??

[/QUOTE]

Not only do I use st Ives, I use it almost every day. Despite the hysterical warnings "that's too rough for your skin!", I have no skin damage, in fact, I think my skin looks pretty decent. (I'm 35).

Me:

As you can see, my skin is incredibly damaged

^I am guilty of that at times too. BUT, everyone keeps telling me lately that I look much more natural since switching to a shade darker foundation (buff in colorstay). It is a *teensy* bit too dark for me, but since it matches my undertones very well and I also blend very well, it looks pretty natural even up close.

i use a shade darker foundation because people say i look sick if its natural... and to stop tide marks i use a fake tan on my neck and chest area.. in winter I cant be bothered doing my whole body so i just do my neck lol but in summer I tan all over

Mascara on my lower lashes. Always.

I'm really terrible about removing my makeup at the end of the day. I mostly wear eye makeup, so I usually just wash it off in the show in the morning, and use makeup removed for any smudges. I know, bad idea.

I don't think it's true. I curl them every day and they look the same, I mean they do not fall out because of that.
