Male Model Fired for Eating Croissant on Bruce Weber Abercrombie & Fitch Photoshoot

^OMG yes

He was fired BECAUSE he ate a croissant, not because of WHEN he did it. Stop making ridiculous excuses, it's just embarrassing.

How funny if his contract stipulated the eating of a croissant was subject to instant dismissal.

In reality though they probably got angry at him for eating something so delicious infront of the rest of the starving fashion people or when he was supposed to be doing some work, told him to stop, he got mouthy and then an argument ensured. Otherwise it is just an example of how extremely out of touch the fashion industry really is.

Geez its just a croissant:shock:

I've been craving croissants ever since I read Poly claimed to eat them for breakfast. As if

i used to work at abercrombie & fitch as a sales person (although our official job description is 'model') and i was sent home for eating too much on my one and only 20 minute break in a 5 hour shift...

No wonder I hate that store. Not that I've ever been in one. I don't like the clothes and the scent pouring out of it repels me.

Wait...This is just fascinating. Can you expand on this?

First, what were you eating that was considered too much? Second, what did it have to do with your job? Were you going into overtime on your break or was it because they thought you might God forbid bloat a little and scare people away from their world class goods?

He can come to my place and eat all the croissants he wants :)

Anyways, WonderfulTonight, yea can u elaborate? This could actually turn into an interesting discussion

OMG! That's not right at all. And btw, i'm going to state the obvious here but one croissant will not dramatically effect your weight.

Does Abercrombie & Fitch actually have any sort of influence these days, apart from promoting underage nude models and producing rubbish clothes?

I can understand why Prada fired that woman earlier this year for her "appearance", since Prada actually qualifies for the minimal title of "fashion". But A&F sound like they're doing it just for the attention, in the hopes that they'll appear "fashionable" and "strict".

Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can buy a Croissant maker?

lolwat
we should all celebrate this by eating two croissants idk
I personally, always thought that A&F was tacky and overhyped but this as I said before this is just stupid they don't even sell clothes or an image, they sell sex x__x .On the other hand,How come they do this to Fry ?:( He has feelings too.

basically, we have a 20 minute break to eat a meal and move our car (because AF does not reimburse mall employees for parking). so i would go to wetzels pretzels to get as much carbs as i could so i would not pass out during the 5 hours of standing on my feet. So i was in the back eating and two managers and an employee walked into the break room and sat down. When they saw me eating they made a comment about how bad it was because it is bread, it is covered in oil and salt, etc. after leaving the break room, one manager came back in and said I need to go out on the floor, I said I had 5 minutes left of my break, to which she responded "you can't continue your break to eat that disgusting sh!t." I looked at her like she was crazy, then she saw me pull out my second pretzel and gasped "you have ANOTHER one?? no way, your break is over, go on the floor." I said i will finish my break and my pretzel, to which she said she was sick of my attitude and told me to go home.

I wasn't fired, but it still wasn't an okay thing to do. The managers are all only a few years older than the sales people, so they dont really understand how something sounds in a professional environment. But she did basically send me home because she didn't like what i was eating.

^ Wow - that is ridiculous  Good on you for standing up for your rights though!

...this thread is making me crave a croissant.

Yeah this goes way further than just "eating too much". It's practically up against the law.

This is making me doubt very much that the reason for his firing was because he ate the croissant "at an inappropriate time" since it seems like to them, all the time is an inappropriate time for carbs...

This is one of the dumbest story I've read in quite some time. Talk about making an issue out of a non issue.

It sucks to lose a job and maybe this news will bring other opportunities for Bael.

I've seen his Polaroids before and now I'll definitely remember him.
