People have been doing the 90's grunge thing for a few years now, I think MK was just following the same trend everyone else was.

As a MK fan, I can tell you she did this look wayyyy before everyone else per usual.

Haha mostely their faces lol. But I have to admit they look very much alike these days, more than they did few years ago... But still it's pretty easy to tell them apart

Definitely their faces. I don't know, I've just been following them since they were younger, so over the years it just gets easier.

Maybe because I grew up following them as well I can easily tell them appart from their faces but their style , also, are very distinctive IMO. Now more than ever. Ashley is much more conservative and lady like but still in her own way. Whereas MK tends to be more experimental, "alternative" and edgy with her outfits. Moreover I've noticed that Mary-Kate accessorizes more than Ashley : many necklaces, bracelets and rings on one outfit.
