Models Who Aren't That Tall

I dunno.... There are many people on these boards that have met these models and have commented on how much shorter/taller they are in real life. The agents know that height sells. I belive one model said, and I'm paraphrasing here,

'I was around 5'5 when I went to New York. I said I was 5'7. And they put 5'8 on my card'

I know alot of girls that are 5'8 and look 5'10. And if you can look the part, then why not use that to your advantage...

It's true that the way you dress can create amazing effects on your height I'm 5'5 3/4" and everyone I know guesses me at 5'9" sometimes 5'8" and that is even when I'm out with my friends who are both known to be 5'9"

This thread made me really happy because I always thought I was 5'5 but I just realized I'm 5'6 (1,68). What is really the minimum height to be a model? After hearing about Kate Moss being only 5'6 I'm quite unsure.

I don't think there is a minimum height. Agencies have their standards but there are always exceptions and lots of times agencies lie about their models' heights anyways!

i've heard many agencies like their girls to be at least 5'7. but like already mentioned they lie about their models anyways so it's all down to how your body is built, slender looking etc.

i get the impression it was way harder back in the beginning of the 90s where a lot of models seemed to actually BE around 5.10-11, especially the supermodels, where now-a-days lots of girls are shorter.

Hmm....I didn't know agents lied about their model's height. I'm 5'7'' and my card reads 5'7''...soo hmm....but alot of girls that I know that are with Marilyn aren't much taller than I...some are a few inches shorter than me too...so who knows?

I have the same thing as a few of the people on here too.
I am only 5'4" and I have been told that if I was 5 inches taller, I could be a runway model. Haha. I wish the whole height thing wasnt a big deal.
Maybe in coming years height won't be an issue?
but for some reason i doubt that.

I turned seventeen in june and I'm guessing I won't grow more, but I'm actually tall for a portuguese girl. Most of my friends are way smaller than me. :/

I was also wondering, does your foot size have anything to do with whether you're gonna grow to be tall?

the longer your foot, the taller you are.

For the most part, if you have a larger foot you will probably be taller. But there are girls that I know that are 5'11 and have a size 6 or 7 shoe. And there are 5'8ers that have size 9 feet.

There's no direct relation. But its an alright indication that you might be tall. Don't hold your breath, tho.

Which agencies do you guys think lie the most about height? My vote goes to Women- there is no way Shanna Click is 5'9.5 while Inguna is 5'9 even... no way!!

I think they all lie! It's a shame that they turn away aspiring models for being too short and lie about the heights of models they have!

They don't turn away girls simply because they are too short. They turn away all girls, short or tall for the same reason; they aren't right for that agency. If they turned away girls because of their height, short models wouldnt exist.
