Gucci Mens, D&G's & Valentino's finales and DSquared2 to name a few. Nudity has been a factor at this season's recent menswear shows. Why do you think designer's did this? Is it simply to show off summer swimwear or because sex sells or both? Where do you think it came from? Themselves or inspired by John Galliano's first menswear collection, as some members put it?

Your input?

i think i'm one of the members 'putting it'
its not like Galliano invented naked guys on catwalks
but it sure like hell started a huge trend.

it is too obvious.

for me, the 'sex as fashion phenomenon' has swifted its focus froms girls
to guys, it makes SO much more sense at this moment in time.
Even though I'm not a particular 'supporter' of the trend -few weeks ago i was in an alternative fashion show, which had some cute naked boys, well, it was too sexy, it felt somehow "strange" all this right in front of me- i can see why , i can see how and i dont mind too much. Anything to save me from half naked she-models, i had enough to last TWO lifetimes.. mercy

end of Friday rant  :P

Why do you think designer's did this?
Because they have no clothes to show.

  :innocent:

Overt sexuality is over, over, over!!! It doesn't shock anymore, which is the intended effect. So what is the point? (Other than turning designer fashion shows into strip clubs.)

wich show are thous pictures from?

i thought it was funny when Gaspard Yurkivich had the (clothed) models simulate sex, but it wasn't really inventive or shocking

I think people are finally recognizing that men can be viewed as sexual objects just as women can. You gotta wonder why this is even brought up when more flesh is bared at women's shows. I personally love the eye candy and have to say it's about F**KING time the male body was put on display.

Well... Nothing beat John Bartlet sending down 2 naked guys (and i do mean NAKED) with a surfboard down the runway a few seasons back...
