Nudity At The Menswear Shows

I gotta be honest. I love man candy as much as the next guy but for me it just seems weird to send a model totally nude down a runway, and that goes for either gender. The only time I ever thought that male nudity made sense was in the YSL M7 ad, and even still it was more because it captured an image of masculinity then anything else.

YSL M7 ad

Are you complaining ??? I meen come on look at how fine some of the men are

Fashion is about clothes... So I don`t see why totally nude models should be walking down the catwalk. And they should have gotten someone with something to show. :P

But the YSL ad is great. Artistic. Masculine... Doesn`t seem out of place.
I like it... :)

Absolutly!

Looks much more "fashionable" than what some of the "big Designers" send down their Runways...

You should all go backstage with a camera with a wide angle lens, and a telephoto.

 I don't want to see it. When I watch menswear shows, I'm looking for interesting new fashion, not naked guys. I think it's usually just distasteful. :yuk:

ahahahah that's very funny!
there's no a photo of marios like this?
ahahahahah jokeeeeeeeeeeeeee

To my eyes, the well-build guy in the shadows is tasteful :flower:
The Surfboard&Penis thing makes me PUKE!

It`s all about the presentation and yes, nudity seems to be an "Accessory" on the Runway...at least it is a guarantee for Publicity (I never knew Shirtology & John Bartlett before this!)

John Bartlett's gay, and nudity in his show was really just an extension of his personal aesthetic, just like past shows that featured aspects of the gay culture like Tom of Finland influences, or the outdoorsey lumberjack types with all the plaids. It was just a gimmick, like you said, to get people to talk about his show, that nudity. And it worked, especially in an industry dominated by women and gay men - "no press is bad press," and all. Sadly, that collection didn't do well anyway, and it was John's last for his label, before he went on a sabbatical...

i think i'm one of the members 'putting it'
its not like Galliano invented naked guys on catwalks
but it sure like hell started a huge trend.

it is too obvious.

for me, the 'sex as fashion phenomenon' has swifted its focus froms girls
to guys, it makes SO much more sense at this moment in time.
Even though I'm not a particular 'supporter' of the trend -few weeks ago i was in an alternative fashion show, which had some cute naked boys, well, it was too sexy, it felt somehow "strange" all this right in front of me- i can see why , i can see how and i dont mind too much. Anything to save me from half naked she-models, i had enough to last TWO lifetimes.. mercy

end of Friday rant  :P

I agree!

I personally don't have any problems with it, bring on the NAKED BOYS! :innocent:

it makes no difference. clothes do go onto the nude body, so who cares if they're nude. we see nude women all the time. what's the big deal about a nude man?
