Kanye in Paris: the rumours are true
The 'will he, won't he' speculation about Kanye West showing a fully-fledged fashion line has been circling the fashion world for months. But now we can finally put a date and time on the rap artist unveiling his first womenswear collection.
The Gold Digga singer will present his catwalk debut at 9.30pm on Saturday October 1, during Paris Fashion Week, in a mystery location yet to be confirmed.
Kanye joins a schedule packed with fashion heavyweights, but you can bet that all eyes will be trained on West's runway debut come the big night.
Expect a front row filled with beautiful girls, eccentrically dressed guys and a smattering of A-list celebrities.

I see they're trying to shake up the first day and make it more balanced, less about 'experimental' designers.. seems like they've been working on this for a while and I wonder why. I liked not having to care for the second half of Paris fashion week.

Besides the usual, I'm also very excited for Chloé this season, really looking forward to what Claire will bring to the house.

Can't wait for Valentino, Miu Miu, and Balmain (more so to see if the new designer shakes it up, thinking about Christophes first collection back in Fall 06 makes me hope we can see something like that again)

can someone give some information on locations that are "see invitation"? I've checked mode a paris already and it gives more locations than we have here, but some are still "secret". are they really that secret?

I don't expect a lot about Paris. Kanye's presentation is a -100000 How could they let someone like he presented in Paris? Paris!!? From Chanel i only expect an impressive venue. From Givenchy the same print in all the clothes (like the menswear) Dior is gonna be trash under Gaytten's direction and i don't like Balmain under any creative director, so meh.

I hope to get wrong.

Is it really lower than having a Hollywood trainwreck with no talent as the creative head of one of the oldest Parisian houses? (I'm talking about Lohan, in case someone forgot ). At least Kanye not tainting someone's legacy, is doing his own thing and clearly has a genuine relationship with fashion (LV collaboration, Fendi internship which he applied for, involvement in the art direction of his work.. active consumer and not so much a hanger of stylists).

As much as I love Paris collections and couldn't really care for Kanye and his attempts to pretend he's a designer, I think there's already a lot of dirt going around in the organization, in smaller doses than say, New York and its celebrity lines, but massive enough to give NY a run for its money in that same department.

I only want dior to hire Galliano back so he can save Dior.I love John Galliano's work and talent.I am looking forward to see haider Ackermann,Westwood,Sonia Rykiel and Celine.I'm not very interested in power houses like chanel cause I want to see something extraordinary but they all end up classical fed from the roots of the old fashion houses.zzzz.
